Default Help from Canadians on the board

I am lookin to get a new car around the end of June. I went 2 nissan dealers, both had poor service...I am like here I am lookin to spend over 50K CAD and nobody wants to stop and help me (I am 28 but look younger)...I was anoyed but brushed it off since both dealers didn't have any 350zs on their lots....finally went to a third dealer who had one in the showroom...he was much more helpful...well he offered to knock off 2k CAD of the MSRP...just wondering you guys think this is a good deal?

Also I am wondering if black w/ burnt orange seats is a colour that I could at a dealer so i won't have to wait so long for one that has to be ordered. BTW I am from the Toronto ONT.

Lastly I was wondering what you are paying for insurance if you guys don't mind sharing that.

Thanks in advance

I live in B.C. :-)
I have a 2004 Silverstone Performance model with burnt orange interior. I bought it in February.
The Nissan dealership I bought from is a new dealership that had only been open for about 2 months when I bought.
The MSRP was 46350. After a some haggling, I got it for 43750.
$2600 less than MSRP. I spoke to a few people and they said that was an awesome deal.
The saleswoman told me because they were a new dealership they were trying to get a reputation for giving good deals.
At first I thought it was salesman B.S., but I guess it was true.
So I think 2000 off MSRP is pretty good though.

As for insurance, I think its a little different in B.C. than Ontario. we dont have private insurance.
I`m 34 have 43% discount for safe driving, which is the maximum you can have and I pay $2200 for the year, but I only insure for 6 months. I wont be driving her in the winter.

Have to share this story with you. About eight years ago my wife and I were out riding the Harley (all dressed in leathers). We were in the market for a house and saw a new development. We stopped to look at the models and were completely ignored by the sales staff. The next week we drove back up there in our new Explorer. This time we were enthusiastically greated by the same saleswoman. We said, "Remember us? We were in here last week. Came by on the Harley. Just wanted you to know we bought a more expensive home from someone else. Have a nice day!"

BTW..also wrote a letter to that builder letting him know how perspective customers were being treated.

What I thought was ironic about my experience was that as I left the 2nd nissan dealership. I went across the street to the Infiniti delaership where I was helped right away and encouraged to take a G35 out for a test drive. I thought somebody at nissan would help me cuz I did old enough to afford a car, who knows I could have been looking for a Sentra. Even at an Audi dealership I was helped right away. Anyway I am not too bothered by it now, I would be more bothered after I own a 350z and get ignored by the service department.
BTW I loved the G35, really nice car, but I get a much more "giddy" feelin when I was lookin at a 350z...guess being giddy around a 350z make me look even younger.

I'm in the same boat as you.... I'm 30 and look about 23.

Winnipeg, MB
2003 Redline Track Model
I found this one "used" with all of 250kms on it. The story is the guy bought it and was transfered up north two days later.

$40,900 was the tag price with no room to move.

Insurance
-Full Discount (25%)
-Comprehensive
-$1,000,000 third party
-$200 deductible

$1500 per year.

R.J._Vancouver, what dealership did you go to? (so I can check it out in a few years when I have enough money for a Z)

Was it King George Nissan in Whiterock?

Hi Soupnazi :-)

I went to Meadow Way Nissan in Pitt Meadows.
They`ve been open for less than a year. After I bought my Z, I told a friend of mine that they were pretty good to deal with.
He bought a brand new Xterra there last week.
He had a good experience also. Very low pressure, salesmen not talking a lot of crap.
I bought the rear cargo net a couple weeks ago, when I went to pick it up, the parts guy actually came out to look at my car to see the replica Nismo wing I had put on. we talked out in the lot for about 20 min.
Pretty friendly Atmosphere. I have nothing bad to say about them.

Thanks very much for the info, RJ!

I've marked them down for future reference. This thread has been VERY informative.

No problem :-)

I got Silverstone with burnt orange seats.
They did`nt have it at their lot. The had a silverstone, but it had black seats. They got it from a Nissan dealership in North Vancouver. It does`nt cost anything to bring a car from a different dealership.
I did the same as what you are doing. I saved up for just about 2 years so I could put down a big down payment.
The wait is worth it!

Hey there Vancouver Z folks...

I'm in Victoria and planning to order a black 2005 with the burnt orange seats this fall. Do you guys think that there is a realistic chance of me getting it for anything less than MSRP if I take the ferry ride over to the lower mainland? With only 1 dealer in Victoria they won't be too willing to deal.

Any advice on how to deal with a factory order situation?

thanks

Just bought my Z.
I'm in Ottawa and 27.
Knocked off $2,400 and also $200 off the extended warranty.

I pay $1,600 CDN ($130 a month) for insurance.

Hmmmm... That`s a good question. I`m wondering is there less negotiating room if it`s a factory order.
Have you tried doing a search on the Nissan Canada website first?
