Question Front license plate

Guys, question. Is there a way to put on the front license plate without drilling holes on the front bumper? My Z is not modded, so I have the stock bumper. I considered myself lucky, because the dealership didn't pre-drill the holes for the plate. It looks better without the plate installed on the front bumper

wow I was just about to ask this question! I got stopped yesterday ( I guess for speeding) and he asked about my missing front plate, I told him I read its not required in WA state, he replied "yea is it" but he came back and cut me a break on both counts, which was nice of him..or did I call his bluff? Anyway..I guess I gotta get one now too

No matter where you place that license on the front, it just doesn't look right.

True, but i would still never want to drill holes in my front bumper.

you will love a front licence plate once you get pulled over by a California Highway Patrol and you thank goodness that is the only thing they stopped you for... then you have to go though the trouble of getting the front licence plate written off... and then they give you trouble about your window tint and then as you leave trying to be quite out of their super steap drive way but do not want to make it obvious that you have your car lowered too much you wack the **** out of your bumper and shatter the left site...

you will wish you had a front licence plate...

cheapest way w/o drilling holes is just to use zip ties and tie it to the grill....

I can attest to his statement. I tried to zip tie mine when I went to have the ticket signed off... but it didn't fly. Get a zee bracket.

Yeah, both placements of plates still spoil the clean look. Someone said on here recently that front plates give the car a "chipmunk" look.

However, the drilled plate (with dealer mounting) at least offers some paint protection if a car backs into you in a parallel parking situation. It sticks out about an inch.

I also heartily recommend the Zee-Bracket, as you can see at

www.cliffshade.com/350zr/issues.asp#zee-bracket

In a few days, I'll be facing the challenge of remounting my Zee-Bracket over a chrome mesh grille insert. I anticipate needing my Dremel tool to cut holes in the grille for the bracket's 2 fore-to-aft support rods and 3 hands to hold it all in place while I tighten down the bracket screws.

Man, the Z just looks like a buck toothed chipmonk with the front plate installed. TX is a front plate state, but I refuse to put it on there. I've been pulled over a couple times, only given a ticket on the front plate once. I'd rather pay the fine infrequently than do that injustice to the look of my Z's face.

Of course, I hear that in Cali, they're much worse about actually pulling people over for no front plate, which doesn't seem to happen much here. They will get you sometimes, after pulling you over for something else.
