Is it possible to get an 04 base for $25k?
Hey guys,
I live in Raleigh, NC and the local Nissan dealer has a few Z's on the lot. I was wondering if I could get them down to $25k for a base? I can try raising some competion between a few dealers so I can get the best price. Do you guys think it's possible? Thanks.

I would say definately possible actually it should be pretty easy. Invoice is 25,223 with destination so your getting your 25k if you get invoice, but you might be able to squeeze a little more out of them if its been there awhile and they worried about selling it, especially since the 05s are right around the corner.

Yes it is... although for 25k are you saying that for the car, don't forget tax, plates, etc etc.. All together for 25k would be a challenge but just for the car, it is very likely that you could. I got an enthusiast all done for 28,200 thats including tax, licence, reg, etc and the retail is 29 in change just for the car

I got my 04 base for $25,800 in the DC metro area back in March. I haggled online with many dealers in the region. Many of the delaers tried to play games to get me to come in so we could haggle for hours on end, but one dealer was absolutely fantastic, didn't screw around with me, and offered me $25,800 online. Since he treated me so well and I was comfortable with that price, I didn't haggle with him and snatched it up poste haste. I think you can definitely swing $25K if you push the right buttons. You might also want to metion that you know about all of the possible problems that might happen (say your hesitant about buying due to the tire feathering issue, paint chipping...etc), that might give you a little more push for $25K. Good luck my brutha!

i bought my redline base in january for $25, 720 which was about the same amount of money that some dealers wanted for Mustang GT convertible. It was a no brainer. I have no need for xenon lamps, gps, or leather. I just love the way my Z looks and drives. They all come with the same engine. it was also the third sale the dealership had made because of me in six months. so that's why he sold it for basically invoice plus about 400 bucks. it's very possible to buy a base for around 25k. best of luck to you. if you need a hookup to get a base Z for that price, pm me and i'm sure i can get you there if my dealer has any base models on his lot.

I'd step up to an Enthusiast; you get a lot for 2 Gs more.
I have seen numerous posts by Base owners asking if you can add one or more items in the after-market that come standard on the Enthusiast. Adding just one item after-market sucks up most of the 2 G origional savings.

28,200 for a eth sounds about the right price i would pay for mine. It's a tiny bit over invoice. Don't forget u the dealers already make money selling a car from dealer hold backs which are 3-5%. I don't like letting dealers make money since 90% of 'em have bad service.

When I enlisted in the marines, I sat next to a guy for 5 hours who talked about how one could drive off the lot with a base Z for 20k
Dealers in north dallas(move high volumes) will take 20k cash for a Z If one is to walk and lay the check down.

Yup its definitely doable. I almost bought a daytona blue base with every option, including that dealer teflon crap they put on. They gave me their best price of 25700 and i said i didnt want the 700 paint protection and told them id give them 25k for the car. 1 day later they called and agreed, so its doable and this was the one with all the available options for the base Z.
I ended up getting an 04 redline enthusiast for just under 28k out the door and this one too was fully loaded with a sticker of 29980. Thats the best price I've ever heard of on a new 04 loaded enthusiast Z - 6MT. This was back in January when they had 1000 rebates and now it should be even better. Good luck and its definitely possible.

Already posted this a couple of times but it still relevant to the post (also I'm pretty happy, so what the hell).
Newbies first post - it's Sunday night and I literally just got home from picking up my Z. I phoned around and played every dealer within a 100 miles of me that had an 04 in stock off each other.
In the end I got a good deal on an unregistered (new) 2004 - sticker was $30,098 on a well optioned 6MT Enthusiast, after a couple of days hard haggling I got a walk out the door price including TT&T of $26749 including the $2000 Nissan rebate. The actual car cost was $24778. Bingo.
Don't know if it's a 2004 or 2004.5 because I don't yet know the difference.

I bought a base becuase the only thing I cared about on the higher models was the Pedals as with the LSD, however everyone making any real power or anyone that spends time at the track doesnt have a stock LSD so whats the point? Id just replace it anyways.
HIDs.... who needs them? =)
I bought a base and would buy a base again no doubt.
