well, our home is payed off in full, but we are still financing our cars.

i wish our cars were paid off too, because then i could get a whole bunch of mods without feeling guilty.

cash on the barrelhead-didn't want payments and why finance when you have the ability to avoid interest charges?? Someone said it is wiser to avoid cash deals so you could invest it elsewhere. That of course presumes the 35K or so you spent for your car was the source of the ONLY discretionary money available. For me, that wasn't the case and so I splurged! Yahooooooooooooooo!

Wrote out a check for $35.557.00 this past Friday for a SuperBlack/Black Touring Roadster No Nav. via the internet. Thanks to the stock market. Bought 4000 shares of XICO at $5.00 and sold at $15.00 all the profit went for my TOY!!! I just shared my buying experience on another thread.. I paid $99.00 over INVOICE. If you know anyone looking for a Z...Contact Trent Earlie at tlearlie@hippodromecars.com or email trente@users.ccleads.com or call 1-615-423-1801 He's a great guy. I flew into Nashville in the morning, Trent picked me up at the airport and I drove home in the afternoon. It was so easy to do..... What a Ride home! Good Luck

I know if i got into an accident i wouldn't get back as much as i put into it if i had paid cash, so i actually like being in negative equity and having GAP insurance. It makes me feel like if someone steals my Z, it would be a financial benefit. I spend my real money on my house knowing that if i pay it off sooner i could save 200k$ over 30 years. If I pay my car off sooner I will only save 6k$ over 5 years. It somehow makes sense to me, especially if my car gets totaled or stolen, or i can use the balance to help keep me from buying another car friviousley knowing i owe so much. And if i do trade it in...the dealer would have to pay it off or there would be no deal.

oh yeah, the 7k$ I will spend in interest by financing happens to be about how much I saved by waiting three months and buying used. I would gladly rent my car out for 10k miles for $7k to someone who:
A) thinks they own it until they decided to sell it(hence probably didn't abuse it oo much)
B) can aford it in the first place(shows responsibility)
C) got rid of it cheap because of some tire noise, greasy windows, crapppy stereo, loose drivers seat, squeeks, rattles and axle clicking noise.

I need more money! I think I'm probably the only one here who financed 90% of the value of the car...

Okay, since this thread is still going... Yes, I'm also guilty of paying for my Z cash. The finance manager hated me. He was like "why pay cash when you can get a loan?"
