thoughts on bras

I've heard some negative things about using bras, about hurting the paint, however the picture I just saw looked like a very close fit and after spending an hour ceaning bugs and noticing 2 small dings with only 1100 miles it's time to maybe reconsider. The clear bra seems better but man they sure expensive at around $700-800 right?

There's a lot that's been posted on this topic, most of it is the Modifications forum. The general consensus on this board is that the black bras (non lacy
) should probably be avoided, unless you like that look. The clear bra stuff (now there's an interesting idea) is pricey, but seems to afford good protection while maintaining the look of the car.

Had a Nissan nosemask on my Super Black 95 300, no problems. Had a Nissan nosemask on my Super Black 96 300, no problems. Have a Nissan nosemask for my Glacier White Pearlglow 94 300, no problems. Have a Nissan nosemask for my Chrome Silver 350, no problems. Notice a pattern here? ![Big Grin](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I had the nosemask on the Super Black Z's most of the time (black/black looks ok, IMO) and I only put the nosemask on the Twin Turbo and 350 whenever I'm taking roadtrips.
You just have to remember to take the nosemask off when it gets soaked and let it dry. If it needs cleaning (regular cleaning is *highly* recommended), then I toss mine in a laundry bag and put it through the washer and dryer (under low heat).

My dealer is going to "throw in" a bra. I'm intrigued as to how it might look on Silverstone. Any opinions from those who have one? Any ideas on the harm/benefits of having a mask?
I love the 3M clearbra, no doubt. Serves it's purpose nicely without being seen (for a hefty price). I would prefer to have that done ASAP. In the meantime, seems the black mask might give the Z a good look and great protection.

The problem is that from what I have seen the nose mask only protects the bumper and not the hood, the bumper is plastic and will be more forgiving when hit by rocks plus it is low and hard to see impact damage. The hood will be unprotected and since it is metal it will not be as forgiving as the plastic bumper and the nicks will be very visible right on top for everyone to see. I was skeptical about the clear bra and I am still not 100%, for the price I want it to be almost invisible but I got it done anyway, it gives me a sense of relief I can drive and not worry about the nicks or having to remove a bra because it rained or I want to wash my car.
