Default Can the Z hold off the LS-1's??

After seeing the posted times of the camaro and firebirds....

5.3 to 60 and 13.5 in 1/4 mile can the 350z hold off the f bodies?

I know these things cant really handle like the 350z , but on the streets seeing all these f bodies are 350z owners going to run and hide from them. Also has anyone ran against some?

No.

Some stock LS-1 Fbodies run low 13's. 350Z can keep up to around 50-60 mph. After that... burnt like toast.

I'm going to love mine though!!!

Agreed.

Stock 350Z will not keep up with a Stock LS-1 equiped Z28 or Formula/Transam.

To make matters worse. The odds that the guy in the F-body next to you who want's to race has a "Stock" car are VERY slim indeed.

I believe that InternetAbbys? said that he took several t/a's and camaros at a private drag strip and even beat an auto c5 vette?

how can this be? I dont think he would post smoke up your butt posts?

Not unlesss it's granny behind the wheel. LS1s can easily run low 13s, I even had one that ran 12.9s with very little done to it.

Stock for stock, an F body with a real driver will beat a 350Z every time.

Just another reason to save up for that turbo kit!!!

My '00 T/A with only intake mods and a cutout dynoed 315 rwhp, 314 lb-ft of torque. The Z's not built to compete with those numbers, stock for stock, but it has other virtues.

If i had to choose between straight line grunt, or overall performance, I would go with the overall performance, where the z shines.
cant wait to drive one... argh

Well All I know is that the drivers of the cars I went up against...must have just sucked or their cars were ragged out or something....

Yes I beat em because of a better launch IMHO...at a roll they beat me... but it was very close....I'm talking about late model t/a and comaros...The auto vette was atleast a 97 or above...I dont know if that made a difference....all these races were a full quater mile.

FYI both the camero and the Ws6 firebird told me they were stock and had nitros....AND when they did use the nitros they tore me a new ***...but in stock form it came down to who was the better driver and who could launch better.

silvrz5,
.4-.8 seconds in nothing. Any good driver can overcome .4 seconds. I think someone needs to pickup a crack pipe and take a couple puff's.

Ok...heres the deal...im not full of crap on this one...these guys hang out in Lewisville and Denton....

If your up to it 350speedracer....lets go cruise and see if we can find em Thur-Sat....Bring your video camera....so we can film and post for Silvr5.

Not kidding....PM me since your in dallas and I'll give you my number...I'd love to film me killing those guys again and having you non-believers jaw dropped in disbelief.

I don't lie about race kills....I have no problem about saying I lost to a heavy high hp american car.

LOL before this I was a mustang lover in high school and a covertte lover until I saw this car at the autoshow......hee hee.

By the way silver5 you got a Z yet?

go do that internet,,,,,,i would be like to see it. And no i dont have aa 350z yet, and I might not get one, Im leaning towards the g35c. Im not promoting going out and racing on the streets, but if it is on private property, just be safe and dont get urself or anyone else hurt or killed please. I just find it really hard to believe that the 350z can take a car with 315 rwhp....and that is about the same weight. No one else seems to think that what your saying is ture and I hope that your not just posting smoke.

I do hope it is true,,, but im not soo sure. Once again dont go racing and kill urself or others. So I think Ill just say dont go out and prove this just to show me that i could be wrong, there could be alot more at risk than just showing me, and others, what the 350z is capible of. So i will be glad to say i will back of of your challenge. Peace.
