Do dealers trade to quicken delivery?
Hello all,
I ordered last week at a dealership that has only had one 350 order. They have a couple coming soon (not my kind of colors), and said they would try to trade another dealer to get me a car sooner. I told them I was flexible on the trim packages, just not that flexible on the colors.
Will other dealers be willing to trade?
I know all cars are suppose to be pre-ordered and going to someone, but I have found dealers that exaggerated their pre-orders just to get a few extra Z's on the lot....
What do you think???

It is my experience that dealers sometimes trade a car in their allotment to another dealer for one in his allotment if it benefits both dealerships. You want red but your dealer has blue; another dealer has red but wants blue They swap. I've gotten at least one car that way.
Now for the 350Z, who knows. All Z's are in big demand. It would possibly be a wasted effort on their part because whatever they get is going to sell. Hopefully your dealer will have the time and the initiative to try to meet your requirements.
What color are you looking for? If it's for a lower demand color, you may be able to get it by trading a higher demand color, IMHO.
