Question Recent Order? Please respond.

My dealer says he ordered my car last week, but I'm not sure
if he is BSing me. He says my order number is W212xxx.

Anyone else with an October order, please respond and let
me know what range your order number is in.

Also, what has your dealer told you about build/delivery dates?

Thanks in advance!

Default Ordered Sept. 13

I ordered so late in September that I was told that my order would not be processed until the first week of October. The dealer said it would be 2-4 weeks before NNA mailed me an order number. He said to expect a Jan - Mar delivery.

It all depends on how honest your dealer is. I went to one dealer in March who told me he could get me the Z in JUNE! I obviously didnt go with that dealer, especially after he wanted a $2000 mark-up

Where in TN, and what kind of deal did you get in regards to doc fees or the emporer's new clothes treatments otherwise known as paint sealant, undercoating, etc?

I'd like to find a place without those charges. I think VandyZ here said Stone River in Murfreesboro didn't charge that, but I haven't checked yet.

Default Call NNA

That's what I did and confirmed that my order number was real.

I placed my order for a CS Performance in Tampa - Oct.10th order day - dealer says delivery within 45-60 days ? ? Should be interesting to see how long it "really" takes to get here.

The cool thing is the dealer is going to take my 2000 Maxima in on trade (above blue book value) in 40 days, then give me a car to use free of charge as a courtesy - I can't believe they would give me a car to use if they knew it was going to be months before the Z shows up. I've asked them how realistic the delivery time they quoted was and they are confident in the 45-60 time frame ??? we'll see - - if NAA says Feb/Mar - they should know ? ?

MannishBoy,

I ordered in Oak Ridge at Herb Newton Nissan. After calling or going to all of the dealers in the area, they agreed to order my Z at MSRP. (It will have all of the accessories as well: mats, plates, aero, & splash. I didn't want the 2 options: nav or side bags.) I put down $1,000 non-refundable.

Of course there will be the regular shipping charges, a doc fee of about $300, and taxes. They have written on the paperwork at the dealership that there is to be no front license plate bracket mounted. (As you know, TN doesn't require a front plate, but dealers like to put one of their own on cars to advertise for free anyway.) Also, it is written that there is to be no dealership sticker on the back of the car. Also, no sealant or anything else is to be applied that might cause extra charges.

The person I worked with was Chad Newton. He has gone out of his way to work with me and help me get the Z I wanted ordered at a reasonable price. (Of course, he's getting paid to do that, but some dealers I've talked to won't even order one for you. They want their full allotment on the showroom floor where they can mark them well over MSRP.) Although I'm still very early in the whole process, based on how I've been treated so far I'd highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the Oak Ridge area. They have ordered several Z's since mid-September and have sold a few off of the showroom floor at (probably) slightly higher than MSRP. Here's how to contact them and, hey, I don't work for them nor do I get anything extra for expressing my opinion - so no flames please. Check NNA website for other dealers as well.

Thanks for the info. I'm actually from ET, and grew up in a family owned car dealership, so I know a few people at various places on that side of the state. I wish Fox owned the Nissan place, because I know the Foxes pretty well, and was able to get my last car at invoice when the market still had them going at list. If it was a GM car, I'd be able to get it at invoice based on the deal we worked out with the people that bought our dealership. The fact that I'm going Nissan has taken away most of my connections for the first time

I'm just stubborn, though. I'm going to try hard not to have to pay any add on crap like doc fees or for their emporers' new clothes wax. I just think it is dumb to have to pay for them to do my paperwork (really just a way to pad the price).

Uro,

Okay, so I called NNA on Monday -- the guy said he'd look into
it and call me back within 24 hours. Today is Friday -- he just
called and said my question was being transfered to their
"Z specialist", and they would contact me again in 24 hours.
(I guess that means another week in NNA-speak.)

This is ridiculous.

Anybody else who is reading this -- can you please share
your (recent) order numbers so I can compare mine? (Mine
is in the range W2122xx).

Thanks!

kingkong,

How did you get your Order #. Did you get it from the dealer or did NNA mail it to you?

i ordered Sept 5th and the dealer told me all orders went in the first week of each month ( I put down $1000 ) on Aug 10. I got an order number from him as soon as he put in the order. He showed me a printout of each Z on order and this included order #, production month, and estimated birthday. Also told me that all orders have been coming in a bit early so far. My original estimate on delivery was Dec. I called 1=800-NISSAN1 to check for a VIN and they guy told me my car would be here late Nov.
I'm not sure but it sure seems that when a dealer puts in an order, he/she would get an order number right then from Nissan. I ordered from Riverside Nissan ,Tulsa, OK. and the guys there have been excellent thus far.

I called the salesman and requested for order number. Also from what my salesman tells me, there's person who's in charge of placing orders, so if your saleman isn't deligent enough to get that simple number you might want to inquire about the person in charge of placing order (ask receptionist ie.) ...might not be true for all the dealers, but thought it might be another route for you guys to get that order numbers.....

Gendo Ikari,

Thanks a lot -- that makes me feel better. I've
heard so many stories on this forum about the lies
dealers make -- it makes you unsure. Let's see
whose car arrives first!
