removing tint from back window
ha..i had to get mine removed. 90% of my lines were cut. They did a sh*t job. They used steam and then a razor scrape the tint off. Getting tint removed is a shi**y process.
But anyways..umm...well, good luck gettin' it removed without cutting the defogger lines.

we just took old tint off my friends 6 yr old car and while it was a ***** to do it wasn't impossible. with the back window we started soaked it with simple green (ammonia) and with a razor blade started to make little slits and start peeling at the top of the window. we were able to peel it off with just using the razor intermittantly (but not near the defroster lines). just keep soaking it. then once it's off we used goo gone and more simple green to remove all the excess glue. the new tinter said he couldn't even tell tints were on there!
be careful though as you will want to die inhaling all that ****.

Yeah, the miracle ingredient is ammonia, and the miracle tool is a credit card. As long as you can manage to peel a corner, then liberally use the ammonia along the peel as you go. Depending on the tint film, it should peel off in one piece. The credit card will make the job of removing the adhesive so much easier and not as "dangerous" as a razor blade.
It's messy with so much ammonia and goop, but remember that the longer the ammonia is on the glue, the softer and easier to remove it will be. And definitely be in an open air environment as mentioned earlier!

well; for the record, ammonia pits glass too...
the place that tinted my car can also remove it; I dont know how; if your tinter was really good, you might see how much they get for that if they do it.
