Default Still bit by the NSX bug

Some of you guys will remember how smitten I was after I drove my neighbors X.

Anyhow, word that there will be no new NSX/HSC has prompted rekindled interest in the X.

I was on this perf site and was blown away with the organization and FACTs (dynos for everything), but most of all low price on modding an X.

NA stage 2 tune (+50HP) for $3K!!!
Ecu upgrades for $250....

check out this widebody conv - much nicer than the veilside Z IMO.

the silver one will be mine!!

50 hp for $3k is low cost?

I know it's a big difference to you, but on a 300ZX TT, you can get 100hp with ~$1,240 (JWT Z32 Pop = $90, HKS Hiper Exhaust = $590, JWT ECU and boost jets = $560).

If you're looking for power vs. cost, a 300ZX TT is the best value out there (Supra = too expensive, RX-7 = too expensive + apex seals, 3000GT = 4,000lb tranny bomb + no potential). This way, you'd still be in the Z world, the cars themselves don't cost much anymore, and the mods are plenty.

I have to agree that NSX's look nice though.

just my $0.02

can you get 50 HP on Z for $3k as well?

But the NSX is definitely more exotic than the Z tho. drool.... Too bad the NSXs i can afford are the 1991 ones and i heard those had some engine problems...

I wanted a `92 NSX for years before I bought my Z. I also frequented NSX Prime. Great site. The `92 Siverstone NSX I wanted was pretty much the exact same price as my `04.5 Performance Z.
In the end, A lot of things that were considered "state of the art" on the `92 NSX, are standard features on even mid-level performance cars now. Plus, full warranty as apposed to no warranty on what is basically considered an exotic car, made me choose the Z.

The NSX is still a fantastic looking car.

I really hope the new one is still going to eventually make it here. Either that or Honda should make an S3000 Coupe with a 3.0 Inline 6 based off the S2000 engine.

That would work for me as well.

Except Honda does not have an inline-6.

And Honda already has a 6 cyl sports car... it's called the NSX!

eeeeewwww

For me X's are all about the incredible driving experience that sadly "290HP" fails to describe (you really have to drive one to understand).

Also, I absoluetly LOVE the way they look - espec with a nice widebody kit. The Z06, C6 vetter whil enice they are still not "exotics" in the sense that the X is. Sure it aint a ferrari, but Its still WAYY higher than Zs, vettes and saleens.

Its more than just the 1/4.

That said, 12 stock aint bad - espec for a 10 yr old car.

Dude what are you smoking?

That 10 year old car does the 1/4 in about 13-14 seconds.

Only the recent models hits 12.8-13.0 seconds flat. Old NSX and newer NSXes are not the same.
