If Nissan is admitting to the feathering problem...
...why are they only extending it for 2 years...its like saying "yeah, we know your Z is messed up but 2 years is all we'll take care of for you...sorry"
Total BS...they should be replacing the tires for the life of your car or find a fix or buy it back.

It sounds like their approach is that, early-on people experienced tire feathering problems and their tires were damaged before everyone figured out what to do about it. Now that we "know what to do" - keep a good alignment - we should have no more tire problems, blah, blah, blah. I'm not agreeing with that; I'm just saying that this appears to be their approach.

my 2 year in-service date is up in late Sept. I'm just worried its gonna happen after and I'll have to pay for it all. Plus my steering wheel kinda shakes a little at 85mph...wouldn't that be an alignment issue? I've only put on about 4K miles on it since it was fixed last August.

I have an '04.5 ZR with tire feathering. Started getting noisy at 9K miles. Getting new tires and alignment, next week hopefully. They said that the warranty on the front tires (from abnormal wear) is extended to 75000 miles. I'll have over 15k miles on the fronts when they replace them, so IMHO not a bad deal. If the fix doesn't solve the problem I'll just keep getting new front tires for free. The noise they make isn't noticable with the top down anyway. I happened to be driving with the top up one day and noticed the noise and checked for tire feathering. It wasn't obvious before 7-9K miles.

Curbed the rear last year...but only noticed the slight shaking lately. I didn't hit any big holes either...hhmmm. I'll ask Nissan to check it out when i bring my Z in for a bunch of TSB work on the 6th of July.
