Z vs 911C4S
Did you know that our Zs weigh only 7lbs more than the 911?
Its kinda funny how some ppl say the Z is kinda flabby. BTW the HP advantage is "only" 27HP.
When ppl ask me how I like my Z,I tell them its the best thing short of a 911. I've been thinkingof getting a 911 when my Z lease is up - however, it seems that the performance upgrade may not be as large as I envisioned...
yup.
porsches to pass....

Frankly, the only three Porsche's I'm really impressed with are the GT3, GT2, and of course the Carrera GT. Even then, the GT2 is WAY up there in the 100G's and I think it looks fugly. Same with the GT3, although I think it looks a little better than the 2.

The 911 was a sweet car...but porsche eventually saw it fit to cleanse it of all personality. Gone is the air cooled motor and the awesome oversteer/understeer with throttle on/off. The only real things the 911 has going for it are its namesake and the RR layout. I personally find the boxster S to be a more fun canyon carver than the 911 C2 (haven't driven a C4).
I really hope the upcoming 911 will have more sheetmetal changes than the current photos suggest.

thats more of a lateral move i guess.
But the spyshots looked really cool.
Also, here in SD it kinda hard to overlook a conv. Although when i think of it if i lived in SD and the roadster was out already...i prolly would still have gotten a coupe.

Also, every porsche kinda looks somewhat alike. Theres so many different models to choose from, between the 911, and the chick-cars: boxster, and cayenne.
However, there is only one Z.

I raced a new Carrera 4 a couple of weeks ago and was actually surprised that it doesn't have as much power as I thought it did. I ran it from ~75mph(3rd) to ~140mph(5th) where I left off (this was in the a.m. with virtually no other cars on the road). I never passed it but slowly reeled him in (he was about 1 ½ car lengths ahead of me when I got on it) until I got to about his door and let off. Not bad for a car that cost ~3x less than a Carrera 4 with only a few basic bolt ons. I think the Z would be perfect if it wasn’t for all the stupid problems; I got a nice old grind going into 5th when I was running him. Guess it's time for tranny #3

the porsche's have lost the looks too imo, i use to love the big fenders and all, but now its more streamlined and boring. but one thing that is unreal is the build quality, that still hasnt changed.

you're absolutely right re: the bad interiors. However, this is common to NEW porsches, my buddies 89 cab has that wet black leather look that porsches did then (and it holds up eally good).
However, a 2002 911C4S cab I drove last year had an interior that did NOT belie its $120K price tag. Hopefully, the new 911 will be a return to porsche's stellar past.

I was driving around in my friends 04' 911 carrera last night and trust me. ITS NO JOKE. It feels very solid and firm and its damn fast. After driving around in my friends 911 for few hour my Z feels slow.
I think I'm going to sell my house and get me a 911 (JK)
