Question Accelerate with VDC on, turn off... Shift to Second...

Has anyone tried accelerating with VDC on from the start, popping off VDC, then dropping the hammer to second???

I'm thinking, if one could do this, they could get the off the line start that VDC can provide, then lose the lag that you would get when you shift to second. Possibly improve another 2 tenths or so???

If this works- (haven't tried it yet), may be able to relocate the button to next to the short throw...

Punch it, touch off VDC, then drop to second-

CLICK, CLICK, BOOM!!!

What are you thoughts/attempts at this???

Cool uhh, NO!

Too dangerous and not beneficial.

VDC, upon detecting any slip, really cuts back on the power going to the wheels, it will slow you down significatly from a dead stop.

And then think about this. The engine is spinning really fast and hard, I am assuming you are going for it, and you want to take you left hand off the wheel and reach for the VDC button?!?!?

Where's your other hand? It's on the shifter, getting ready for 2nd gear. Do you really want to try this? Play this in your mind carefully, ok?

I totally agree. That idea isn't going to give you any kind of help, it'll only make for a scared passenger (if there is one).

TC hurts you when trying for max acceleration because it cuts the power or applies brakes to stop wheelspin. It is NOT launch control like they have in F1 that allows the optimal amount of wheel spin.

I wish the TC could be disabled separatly from the VDC, other manufacturers allow this.
