Default File Complaint w/ Better Business Bureau re: feathering

I don't know if anyone has done this yet, or what good may come of it (probably none) but I just filed an official complaint against Nissan with the Better Business Bureau, on the problem of tire feathering.

If you wish to do the same, and I highly encourage you to do so, it only takes a few minutes to fill out the form online at: http://www.bbb.org/

I'll keep anyone updated, who may be interested, if you email me at brian_0523@verizon.net

I'm also looking into starting an online petition to Nissan to issue a recall and a permanent fix of the problem. Anyone who may be interested in helping me, please feel free to email me. I could use some auto tech assistance in the wording etc.

I know many of you are content with tire replacement, and that's fine. I love my car, but I also want Nissan to know they can't screw us over like this.

Uh... didn't Nissan release an official fix for this a while back? It was a toe adjustment issue that was discussed in a TSB. I would guess that fixing the toe-in setting on the front wheels so it doesn't happen again, along with replacing your worn tires would be sufficient. What more are you looking for?

Correct me if I am wrong but ss far as I know the TSB fix is not a permanent solution and lots of people report this problem on this forum. I agree with Brian, it shouldn't take 2 years for Nissan to acknowledge the problem (for which they didn't officially take responsibility yet). If Brian's actions will make Nissan come up with permanent solution to the problem then all power to him. I bet all the critics will be the first in line to get the fix pounding their chest .... .

Oh, this is not about money in any way; what this is about is holding a manufacturer responsible for correcting their mistakes, permanently, and not with a band-aid.

If you're happy with replacing your tires ever 8k miles, then all the good for you, corporations love consumers like you, who gladly accept inferior products without question.

I had the latest tire recall procedure done on my car. I haven't had any tire feathering or right pull problems since then and I've put over 4k miles on the tires after the fix. This is the second time I've been in for the feathering and the last fix seems to be working. (but we'll see)

LETS SEE !--- they are GIVING us new tires and if feathering isn't gone after toeing is adjusted more FREE tires & another alignment all free for the first 24k& adjusted till36k. NOW if the problem continous and you reg. your trouble with NNA than you have done 2/3 of lemon law items to get niian to take your car back. plus by triing nissan's fixes for so long you'll most likely get more $$$$$.

good work, man! just ignore these fools. The problem is we shouldnt have to keep begging the dealership to do these adjustments and then wait until they oblige us.

it's pretty well established the alignment tsb doesn't fix the problem.

so as long as they provide stopgap measures for the first two years, nissan's absolved of all responsibility. ok. i'm pretty sure even nissan themselves have a less warped sense of ethics than that and hopefully they'll announce a real fix soon.

Damn! So you're saying the tire recall I received in the mail doesn't correct the tire feathering?!

Guys.. a stupid question..

Is this a problem in ALL YEARS?..

Or has this been corrected for the newer models?..

And, Are there any numbers?.. As in, What's the percentage of cars having this problems out of all the produced cars that could be affected?

I had the TSB done and free new tires up front. Problem solved. No more uneven wear, it drives straight. Maybe its your dealership not making the correct adjustment.

Also, I don't know how you say your tires only last 8k miles, I made my first set of tires last over 20K miles including 2 autoX events on those tires.

Guys... this is also a sportscar wearing a 180 treadwear tire. They are WAY more suceptible to wear.

If you can afford a car THIS expensive a new set of front tires isn't going to kill you.

You've got no idea what your talking about do you PhoenixINX. Have you seen a feathered tire? The complete instead is worn down while the rest of the tire is almost perfect.
