Yes...very sad! I would probably get physical with someone who messed up my Z. It would just be a second nature thing. Like someone messing with a family member.

Hey guys the estimate of the damage is in from the body shop. They say its only 10,000 dollars. I have noticed they are going to use the same parts on the car before the crash in conjunction with new parts. It states only 3 of the 4 rims are going to be replaced. And only one tire is going to be replaced. They state that a piece of the body will need to be cut and welded. I dont understand how all this was is 10,000. I had a 2001 Celica GT and was involved again in a hit an run. The Celica only had body damage on the bumper and hatch door and the damage came out to be about 12,000. What a bunch a B.S. How can I get a second opinion?

Take it to your own body shop instead of the one the insurance company gave you. If you get multiple estimates for more than 10K then you shoudln't have too much of a problem arguing with your provider... depending on how stingy they want to be about it.

Yeah take it somewhere else, who's your provider if you don't mind mentioning it?

What are they telling you in regards to moving the car to your shop (they have to give you that option)??? Have you advised that you want new parts for all parts damaged in the accident? What is the claims adjuster telling you?

Well since my car was pushed about three car lenghts, they are only going to replace 3 out of 4 rims and 1 of 4 tires. I talked to the adjuster and he states they will only replace what was damaged. So I guess later on I will experience uneven tire wear because the tire the are only replacing is the rear tire. I just hope if the car is repairable, the car will be reliable and not have to take it to the body shop or dealer for numerous repairs regarding the accident. I will see if I can have a second opinion by another body shop. And I certain hope their is justice made on that dumb woman. My car is in Gods hands.

Ask them if they are using OEM parts or parts from say (china/taiwan)? Is your adjuster being reasonable about what happened or is he/she stating this is the way it is period?

I'm really sorry bro. I feel for you, really. I was involved with a hit and split on July 3 and my Z is in the body shop now too. I was at a red light and a drunk guy slammed into us and then took off on foot while the car was still running in the middle of the road. Sucks. Hope you get taken care of dude. Hate to see you get screwed for someone else's mistake. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I really miss my car. I was barely having fun with my Z. I cant take pictures of the Z because I dont have a camera. I live in Garden Grove, California by the Crystal Cathedral. My Z is in a body shop in Santa Ana, California. Anybody around the area? I am about to move to Corona California once my Z is out of the shop.

Be sure to tell the insurance company that you want an amount for depreciated value on the Z. This is the amount that the car depreciates because it's been in a bad accident.

I had a 93 Rx-7 that had $9k of damage and I got $1500 extra for depreciated value. Not all states have laws supporting depreciated value claims but I'll bet CA is one of them.

Sorry about your car.. good luck
