Default Z-less -sigh-

Alright... So... Im Z-less now, I just got back from the dealer where my car still sits. I took it in for a air leak in the drivers window that so far has taken 3 trips to the dealer for and still not fixed and I also mensioned to the service guy about the clank that i hear when i press the clutch after just starting the car from cold. they tryed to replicate the sound, but of course the car was already warmed up... so they are keeping it over night ::tear:: . This is the first time my car is going to be away from me... I already feel this emptyness inside...

-sigh-

I talked to a guy yesterday who had to have the rubber molding replaced that the top of the side windows touch when the door is closed. It had worn due to the little roll up trick when you close the doors. Could be the source of your air leak. Have they replaced that in their 3 attempts?

When you say "air leak" are you referring to the incessant noise that from the window at semi-high speeds (~45mph)? If so, I've got that too... from what I read on here, it may be a symptom of the window streaking fix. The sound sounds like the window is slightly opened, but it really isn't. I tried moving the moldings as suggested on this board, and it helped a little. Let us know what they do to alleviate your problem.

Yea, The air leak makes it sound like the window is slightly cracked but it isnt. On the first attempt the tryed to adjust the window and also ordered a new weather stripping. That didnt work, nor help... sounded the same. Then the second time they adjusted the windows roll up when u open/close the door. That didnt work either. Today they adjusted the door so make it close tighter. Didnt work either... I dont know what they are going to do. You only hear it when doing 55+. So I just left it there where they are supposed to fix that as well as the clanking sound under the car when you press the clutch when the car is cold. Ive had these problems since the day I bought the car, I noticed it while driving the car home the night I bought it. That was back at the end of May. Still... nothing. Oh well...

Just think of it as a Z appreciation period, whether your driving a "normal" or not you''ll appreciate it when you get it back more.

What dealer did you take it to in Vegas? About the clutch, are you referring to the clunk noise when you push it in? Mine does that too and allot of other people on this board have the same issue. I don't think there going to be able to fix that one.

They are keeping it over night and going to try to replicate the sound in the morning... I found that the sound only happens after a cold start.. It doesnt happen after the car has warmed up. We'll see what they say... I took it to Planet Nissan in Centennial

Im still in South Korea and have been Z less for over a month now. Just two more weeks and i'll be driving through the twisties with a grin from ear to ear. Im having my sister clean all the bird **** off and I gave her very clear directions on how to clean it. I know I should have gotten someone to start the car every couple of weeks but oh well
