i'm just up 95 in fair hill. check the Bel Air board out, it's a lot of younger guys, but it's good for laughs. they have a lot of meets if you're looking to meet some more car guys.

 

I have a review of a forester XT(230hp) by european magazine, and it did 0-100km/h in 7.6 seconds... 350z by same magazine was clocked 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds...

Thats a bad photoshop. You can see the block cutting and pasting around many of the words. The person could have at least taken the time to clean up their work.

 

Was that top gear acceleration? You can't really compare top gear acceleration between a turbo car and a NA car.

 

I think you missunderstood. It's zero to 100km/h, the european equivalent of zero to 60 mph (62mph in this case)...

was that test done with an automatic transmission? the european XT also uses a 2.0 liter engine, not the 2.5 we have here.

 

You are right. I misread that. But the 0-60 time for a forester should be pretty similar to a 350z. Maybe better for a forester? Its up in the air after 60.

 

It's a sad day when a manufacturer premotes drag racing with your whole family in the car, verrry safe indeed.

 

Best 0-60 times for the Z as tested by Motor Trend is 5.3s.

I like how the 350 Z looks but it can't do everything that a Forester XT can do. If the Z was a more practical car, I would have considered buying one. My Forester XT can hang with a Z on the street and then haul some groceries afterward.

If you bought a car to pick up girls, you are lacking in other places. Chop or not, the fact that some of the Z owners are riled up about an advertisement means they are worried they spent too much on a car that is challenged by a family car.

 

well, it wasn't a member of our board anyway. i'm just trying to extend the olive branch.

 

never had a problem picking up women because you can't drive you car into the club......98% of the people I know that own any SUV it has never left the pavement......and all of our groceries fit in my Z.......so hmmmmm...let me see, Forrester fast or not........I'll take my Z all day long.......bottom line, it looks 23457834650872365098739856137587 times better than that box called an SUV

 

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i like the looks of my XT.






i didn't buy my car to attract the other sex or to get noticed, but the most common thing people say about my car is "Wow, THAT's a Forester?!?"

 

nice ride, but i would rather have curves than 90 degree angles....

 

thanks. that's cool with me, different strokes. i wouldn't argue the fact that the 350 is a better looking machine, but again, apples to oranges.
