disheartening nonetheless that that car can come close. Just makes the z, and sti, and evo etc seem silly if a car like that can come that close even though it wont be able to hang in with them once a turn comes along

This seems to be Subaru's new marketing scheme. To bash at other cars 0-60 times. See the new ads for the Legacy? They say how it's faster than the German counterparts.

It only has 210 hp and still manages to get from 0-60 in 6.1 seconds? That sounds fishy to me. It must have a ridiculous amount of torque; that seems kind of quick considering the weight to hp ratio.
