About 7000 dollars with my 7000 thats what I said.. I dont have time to keep responding back to you guys.. You guys are like 20 some years old telling me that I cant afford my own car when I can. Did I ever say I was going to pay for all of my college? I know I said my PARENTS are paying for my insurance.

maybe they are giving you advice because some of them are speaking from experience. I personally dont care if you can or cant afford the Z. I wish you the best with your new car and I hope that it does not keep you from enjoying other activities because you are too broke to pay for anything. Im still in school as well but if I only made about 800 bucks a month I would not even think of a Z

So much hate in this thread.

Enjoy your Z! And in the future I'd avoid making threads like these because these are the replies you are going to get.

No hate here but I detest people (no matter what age) who flat out lie or distort the truth to make themselves appear like something they are not. If our juvenile co-owners of Z's would only show some graciousness and respect to their benefactors when they first claim that they have bought or are buying their Z's I'm sure, what you call, hate would not be there.

I have seen probably more hate and jealousy on this forum from younger owners who are strapped for cash and can't do the mods that older more affluent memers can. Just read some of the responses that I (age 62) have received regarding my decision on installing a TT kit.

You just turned 17 so you're a junior? You better hope you don't lose your job anytime during your last 2 years in school or your parents are gonna have to bail you out. You also better not take anytime off because 200 dollars less a month from 800 isn't enough to make the payment. I never dreamed of paying for a car like that in high school. If all your money is going to your car, how can you afford clothes or food or going out with friends? bad decision, or a big liar.

There are some people called parents for food/and going out.. It's like 10 bucks for a pretty good dinner.

Congratulations! But why didn't you tell us who gave you such a wonderful gift and take this opportunity to publicly thank them? Maybe it's this generation, but I think it's disrespectful to say in a casual matter fact way that I received a $30k present without acknowledging the gift giver unless they told you to never reveal who gave you the gift.

I traded in my accord and got a Z. My dad gave me and extra $2000 for the down payment to get me the payments I could afford but I pay the note and insurance. I was 19 when i bought the car and am 20 now. Its alot of money to pay for a car but while still living at home with not many other expenses, I think it was worth it. Now I'm just saving up for a house.

I got my 350z When i was 17 i got it a week before i turned 18. My parents bought me it. It was a suprise. My car has 16k miles on it and its 14 months old. I have a enthusiast . And the insurance is 550$ a month..lol The car payment is only 450.00 lol.....So its alot of money for a young driver to have a Z

jesus, some people just have more money that common sense. I'm 24 and I wouldn't even be paying remotely close to that a month for a GT2 Porsche.

Yeah, me not having to pay for my school was huge, since I got a scholarship I took the money that was going to pay for school and invested it!

I'll make this simple.

I am 17. I own a Z. I make the payments. I pay for gas. I pay for maintenance. I pay for upgrades. I work a job. I run a business in addition to the job. I make good money with my business. I invested in the stock market. I am 17. My parents pay insurance. I am 17. My parents pay insurance. I am 17. At the age of 16 I had already saved 5k from my business. 5k= down payment. I own a Z. I am 17. I make the payments.

Any questions/flames?

I'm pre-ordering my Z this December, I will get it around February, so I will have more time to break it in, and get some mods on it. My parents will be paying for it, they made a rule to pay for every child's first car, from then out, you have to pay, my older brother got a 2000 Chevrolet S10 Xtreme, and my oldest brother got (and still has) a 1995 Ford Ranger Splash (aka pos), my older brother totaled his Xtreme and got a new 03 Mustang GT, so I feel it is only right that I get a 350Z. Whether you guys agree with me or not, depends, but I don't really care either way. I just wanted to share this with other members and say I expect to see some of you at some Z meets in Feb.

BTW, I do plan on paying whatever I can on the 350Z, and I am expecting to open an automotive shop this October.

so do you run a business or own it? i believe you have to be 18 to "own" a business. also its not just your car your parents HAVE to cosign since your a minor.

i dont see why you emphasize that your 17 so much, whoop de freakin doo, what do you have to prove

Yaaaawn....Is it over yet? This financial **** measuring is getting a little old from a bunch of teenagers, none of whom really have a leg to stand on without mom and dads help. But that's OK!!! It's part of being young and we ALL did it. It really doesn't matter who pays for your car, and THAT is the point. It's a Z forum, so what say we talk about the car!

All you guys ready for this stuff to be moved to the "financial section" of this forum yet?
