Just thought i would share my expeirence i had in My AUTO Z in an AUTO-x Event. For my first time at such an event i did pretty well only 3 seconds behind C5 vette and 4 sec behind a Shelby cobra. I had four runs and gained almost 2 seconds each so i think with a little more track time i could have matched them.

In my 4 runs i tested it 1st in full auto with TCS off- no good by far my worst time but i was also getting used to the track and learning the corners. Auto was not cut out for this.

2nd run 1st gear TCS off- Lit the tires up pretty good off the line was pleasantly surprised at the lenght of my tire burning before i hit the first turn and had to let up soon after just before the second turn i hit the rev limiter and soon realized i couldnt run the entire course in 1st but i continued this run in first.

3rd run TCS off - i tried running the course in 2nd gear I did a little better and was still able to drift a little but felt bogged down when slowing down in the corners

4th run TCS off - a combo of 1st & 2nd I did a little better but the shifting was a little slow but still a better run.


Overall- Had a blast running my car as hard as i could but still uncertain if an Automatic will satisfy my thirst the Z has giving me. Never planned on any of this but ive caught the bug and wondering if a Track model is in my Future...Hmmmm

 

you ran the course in just 1st and 2nd gear.... I guess it was a short course with tight turns?

 

Wait til you take the Z to a real track... there you're able to really start to open up the Z...
