Default my 350Z @ 150mph - Phx to Vegas - pictures

Took my 350Z on a road trip this weekend. Went from Phoenix, AZ up to Las Vegas. A great drive!

There's a 50 mile stretch between Kingman, AZ and the Hoover Dam that is straight and open... as far as the eye can see. You can see a cop coming for miles. I decided to open up the Z and see what she had.

I floored it and waited to see what would happen.... very quick acceleration to 120mph. from 120 and up the acceleration dwindled but it was still damn good.

I got up to 152 mph.

The car sould EASILY hit the 156mph limiter. With the limiter removed I'm positive the car will do over 160.

The handling was sewing machine smooth... no vibes no lift no nothing... just raw speed! The engine was just purring along at about 5900 rpm.

My girlfriend snapped some pics of the dash showing the tach and speedometer. looks sweet to see the needle almost buried!

For point of reference.... we did the 50 mile stretch in a little over 20 minutes. Averaging a speed of about 125mph.

My fuel burn was about 15-17mpg for that stretch. About the same my 2000 Ford Ranger gets at only 90 mph on the same stretch of road.

Before some of you get your panties up in a bunch... The traffic was light to non-existant and the stretch of road is straigh and level desert for 60 miles.

second pic taken at Hoover Dam

nope... it's blue. a 20" tube just behind the aluminum bumper. The tube is not visible from the outside but the glow is....

dude i know the feeling

i hit the 150mph mark on the 5 freeway just north of burbank

no problem for the car.....smooth

the only problem was that the freakin' road had bumps on it

and curves

and worst of all, bumps on the curves

i was sweatin' it the whole time

id hit a bump and would feel it later.......it was crazy fast

thank god i was faded and didn't fully comprehend the risk

just kidding ..........i wasn't faded

haha

Are familiar with the concept of natural selection? You might
want to have kids now before its too late.

On second thought...

Look at how white his thumb is!!! Almost soiled the pants didn't you. Try doing 167mph on a sportbike, turning at that speed is a workout. If that doesn't make you pass a loaf I don't know what will.

Default lighting

I'm sure having blue neon glow in the grill is probably illegal but out here in AZ as long as you don't see the actual neon tube, the cops tend to let you go.

Plus I hate seing the tube anyway... tacky the best effect is achieved with just a hint of glow.

i don't dig those full underbody neon kits either.... too much IMO. I like just a touch here and there.

I have two small tubes inside under the dash to cast a blue glow on the aluminum pedals and passenger floorboard.

tried to take a pic.... although the look is much better in person.
