Yeah, now I've heard it all. I was hanging out with a friend at the local Wally-world earlier when one of the employees saw my shiny red Z sitting out in the parking lot (by itself of course):

Employee: "nice car!"

Me: "thanks."

Employee: "I know I've heard of those cars. Oh! It's an RX-8, isn't it?"

Me: "" (stayed that way for a second or two... pretty akward)

Me: "Actually it's a Nissan 350Z"

Employee: "Oh, never heard of those" (walks off)


Some people. This is actually the second time someone compliments me on my "RX-8"...

 

I might have not replied at all... LOL, just sat there and then walk away..

heh people around here atleast know its a Z. their just always disappointed when I tell them I didnt spring for the turbo model. I just dont care to inform the world one person at a time that no such thing exists.

 

I`ve had people think my Z was an Audi TT coupe. Which drives me crazy because I hate the TT.

 

Just say yes to whatever "wrong" question they provide you so that they will buy the wrong car and then see your car and realize....DOH!

Same thing happened to me the other day, but it was an older couple (in their 50's perhaps)...The look I gave them (before I corrected their stupidity hehe) began like this , then to this then to this

When people start in with the SERIOUSLY stupid questions (or ask why I didn't get the turbo model) I just start messing with them. One guy actually believed I had a flux capacitor that gave me an extra 40 hp at the wheels.

I know, I'm evil. But I don't care. lol

 

On the way to work this morning while backing out my driveway, a guy in a red sunfire pulled behind me and waved. I got out to see who it was, and he goes, "oh, sorry, I thought you were Sal..."

Sal is my neighbor, lives 3 houses down. He has a black Porsche Carrera drop-top. I'll take that mistaken identity as a compliment.
