just got off the phone with my Nissan service guy. He says Nissan is working with Bose to find the cause and fix for the problem.

He says nothing he can do now because the fix is not avaiable.

I thought some folks on this list had the amp replaced and it cured the problem??

How about part numbers for the replacement amp??

I can't seem to find the original complaint to the Bose system on this thread. Is it the volume going up and down which drives me nuts???

thats my problem also the base kicks in and does some wierd stuff too. it seems it feeds back its own noise into the ambient sound sensor, and raises its own volume to overwhelm itself. it then resets when theres a break in the music.

it gets rather annoying.

Nissan will be releasing a bulletin to dealers in November. Don;t know when in Nov. but sometime.....

As soon as the bulletin is released to them you can call your dealer for an appointment. Supposed to be a simple amp swap. Should take no longer than an hour once they get to it.

Call your dealers beginning Nov. 1 and bug the sh#t out of them until they get the bulletin.

Default I heard it's the microphne

I spoke to my sales rep today who had just returned from tech training on the Z this morning. The trainer from NNA specificaly mentioned the Bose problem. He told the trainees that Nissan got a bad batch of mics and the problem had already been fixed in production. A service bulletin will be coming out to fix the cars with the bad mics.

So now it is not just the amps but the mics as well? Maybe that takes care of both problems, auto volume and muddy bass.

When I spoke with Nissan last Friday, they said to go ahead and make an appointment at the dealership (the 2nd week of November, to be safe.) They will be issuing a TSB this week. My dealership was also not aware of this issue.

As far as I know, this is NOT a blanket fix. You need to start a case with Nissan (1-800-NISSAN1) to insure replacement.
