Default WHat do all you have your "redline" set at?

In 1 of the gauges, where you can view temp, mph, stopwatch, etc etc.. You can see the "redline" stock its set at 6600..but you can change it.. I have mine at 8000 (the most it lets you) What do the rest if you all have it set at.. and if no one knew you can change it, the answer is yes you can. Thanks for the replies

You're talking about setting the shift light at a certain rpm right? If so, I have mine set at 4k but I hardly ever pay attention to it.

Does changing the shift light point make the car actually go to 8k before hitting the rev limiter?

So the car still hits the rev limiter at 6600 but you have it set to 8k?

So basically from what I understand, your shift light will NEVER go on. You still have the same 6,600rpm redline. Do you honestly feel like it makes the engine more "rev happy"???

Why do you suppose? I have mine set at 6300. Which means that at 5,800 it starts blinking, at 6,300 it's a SOLID red light (500 rpm of blinking) and I know it's time to shift when I see the SOLID red light in my peripheral vision. (I end up shifting at around 6,500. I HATE the aggressive rev limiter.

I don't think that setting the shift light at a higher rpm will make the car more rev happy. I think that it's just a light. Or so I think...correct me if I am wrong.

I also vote that it is just a light. Could you imagine being able to select the ACTUAL redline? That'd be sweet.

Or being about to reduce the 287hp and 274tQ to maybe 150hp for "crappy traffic" mode or "winter/snow" mode to save on gas and rein in the power for the weather conditions.

SWEEEET.

It is just a light. The setting of the rev warning light has nothing to do with the redline/rev-limiter (that is fixed by the ECU).

I set mine to 6800rpm, so it flashes at 6400 and goes solid at 6800. By doing that, I always shift when I see the first flash, and never hit redline (I plan to keep the ol' girl for a long time, so I want to save her from wear-n-tear).
