Do you think it might be based on individual dealer allotments? WHich means maybe each dealership is afforded so many Z's for Aug delivery. And let's say it took that dealership longer to fill those spaces, thus meaning someone could still order later than others but be one of the first to receive their Z...maybe? No maybe?

 

I spoke with a customer care person at nissan last week. Perhaps she was just fishing for something to tell me to get me to leave her alone, but she told me that nissan was going to start filling pre-orders on a by model basis. Meaning that they go into production on one of the models, and continue until they fill all of the pre-orders for that model. Then they will move into production of the next model and so forth and so on...
When you get your car will be determined by the model you ordered, in priority of when it was ordered, and lastly by geographic location. Once all preorders are filled, general production will begin. I'm not saying that's the way it is gonna work, that's just what i was told by nissan customer care...

Although it seems very unfair, they told me that it is possible that people pre-ordering that week very well may get their car before I get mine (despite the fact i pre-ordered in january).

If someone decides to call nissan and ask them about it, please put a reply in here to let me know if this is even remotely close to being true.
