ok this is kinda cool...One of my higher ups from NNA called today...I love it when they call I get very excited.

It was Q and A time like always I drill them with anything and everything on my mind.

What was on my mind....WHEN DO I GET MY CAR and whats the process.

First: Your customer purchase number will be associated with the VIN number for tracking and your dealer will be informed and then you will get a ETA of when it comes.

*This is straight from the very top. As in the people who created the preorder program.

August-October They have no exact time frames when the cars will be delivered or shipment schedules (aka boat pacific boat ride and truck ride) or what the production schedule is yet and expect REAL INFO in Late JUNE early JULY period. Every thing else is speculation period. Anyone that claims to know a exact day of shipment is misinformed.

Second: I wanted info on the 350 production car coming to dallas for the National Zclub convention.

Ok this is very cool.

Sunday the 16th of June the car arrives at 6am along with people that registered for the convention at Texas motor speedway.
The 500 car caravan leaves north dallas between 7-8am.
There will be photo ops in the parking lot. I will definitly be there for hot new pics to answer all our questions about the final production car and end the debates about whats what. There will be many other people there so I hope i'll get my pics posted first.
I gotta special invite from the Nissan Liason to all Z clubs in America. A very nice lady that is a member of Group Z and She is the Nissan Insider that always meets up with the people in LA and is supposed to go to fuddruckers tonight for another meeting..by the way she has no new info and I did drill her for new info but she seems to know just about the same as I do so no news there.

But she knows everything about this 500 car Z caravan to the National Z Club Convention.
Even though I'm not in any club and do not currently own a Z she made me a member of Group Z and is sending me a invite to the convention. Sorry guys I'm in Dallas not LA so I won't be at any meetings.

Well while I was talking to her she said she is bringing a friend along with her. I said friend ? who?
Mr. Katayma If i misspelled that I'm sorry.....He is supposably the inventer of the Z and the former CEO of NNA. Is that true? I don't know nissan corp background and z history.
Well anyway I'm supposed to meet her and she is gonna let me take all the photos I want of the production Z and a photo of me and Mr. Katayma. She said something like hes 92 yrs old and he won't be driving the Z and something about not knowing who will be driving the 350z. whatever well...

The car goes down I35 to Waco for a stop them to Round Rock TX
Then stops in Houston to pick up 16 Ultimate Zclub guys from Japan.
Then the caravan travels by police escort to the Hilton in San Antonio.

There is supposed to be alot of cool things and info release about NISMO stuff in north america.....YES the NISMO boys will be there.
She said there are alot of activites planed.

She is faxing me a schedule of events and registration for the convention ill be posting that tomarrow!!!!!

She said something about costing 60 bucks and getting T-Shirts and stuff like that.

Um thats all the notes I took down so if I forgot something ask it may refresh my memory. I talked to her and the VP of customer affairs for about a hour and half.

Nissan is being very cool with me....and I will be thinking then when I send my customer service survey in.

Thanks for the lengthy and thorough update. I'm just trying to be patient and wait for the information to come out. Right now there are alot of different viewpoints and ideas that just seem so much speculation. Would be nice if NNA would release just some info.

the z at that convention will be an actual production car, not the same one we see every day, the show car one?

oh, and internetabyss, be sure to take LOTS of photos. we'll be waiting for them.

Mr. K, as they say, is the creator of the Z. I've never met the guy, but he's supposedly quite smart and really helped save Nissan (Datsun) in the 70's.

Mr. K was the inventor of the z. he's been put in the automotive hall of fame in detroit. so, yeah, he was pretty important.

You will definitely "beat" me getting the pics online, since I won't see the car until several hours later than you.

I am just glad that NNA got back to me about when the caravan was going to be in Austin. At the Houston event, the main rep from NNA (anyone get the NNA reps' names?) told me about the caravan and the stop in Austin, but I couldn't remember the exact times.

Can you imagine 500 Z's driving the I35 corridor? Those who have travelled between Austin and Dallas recently...think about the area south of Hillsboro, that place can be a nightmare on the better days. I hope some of those in the caravan will be taking plenty of pics and vids.
