Default Just Wondering if i was the only one w/ this problem

I am a surfer so i spend alot of time at the beach. Most of the time i will go w/ friends or family so i don't hafta bring the Z. My problem is when i want to go by myself to the beach and surf and i only have my car available. I don't trust stashing a key somewhere on the car cuz my friend's car got stolen that way. the manual says that u can't get the key wet so that rules out putting the key in my pocket while i surf, which i did with my old car. I refuse to leave anything on the beach while i'm in the water alone because every time i do it gets stolen... anyone else have this problem? or anyone know a way around it? any help would b good

wrap your key in a ziplock back and keep it with you.

I had the same problem. In the old car I would keep my key in the tail pipe until I accidentally pushed it into the muffler. After that I got a water proof key wallet . God I miss the water, inlanders are just plain weird.
Try this

Why not get a generic key made, which won't have the "chip" in it, and bring it with in the water. You will be able to use to open the doors, but not start the car

Problem: what happens when someone breaks into the car and finds the real key?

Creative solution, but it doesn't really solve the problem unless he's ok with leaving his keys in the car where they might be stolen.

When going in.. Use a condom..

No kidding.. that's what I do.. buy some cheap non lubricated rubbers and put your keys in it and then do a double knot.. then put in you pocket as usual.. Has always worked.. and if you can manage to re-open the condom without puncturing it you can use it another time..

like the guy said. make a copy of the key. keep the original key in the glove box or somewhere where they wouldn't look for it. you can lock the glove box with the copy. or buy some masking tape and tape it under your console or something, be creative.

I am thinking about getting a generic key made right now.... I ride a 6'0" when i use the Z... i have no problem putting the board in the passenger seat haha. My other board is a 6'8" which i dont' really like so i only use when i go w/ family or when they waves aren't as fun. I am thinking about getting a 6'3" which would still easily fit in the passenger seat
