I have the same problem, but they actually mounted the license plate and I now have two big holes in the front bumper. I guy at work with an S2000 had plugs that he bought from the Honda dealer. I'm going to see if they will work for the Z, then add a little silverstone touch up paint. I should look better than what I have now.

The fix for this is so much easier than you think. Go to your local hardware store and buy some nylon plugs (2@ >$.70)

Be sure to measure the diameter of your bumper holes before going though.

Pick them up and them paint them with a two to five coats of touch-up paint and then some clearcoat. When dry, slap them in and they look great

Granted that the bumper would've looked A LOT better without the holes, but the nylon plugs do a magnificent job at alleviating an aggravating problem. They fit great, and won't come off unless you pry those bad boys off

It might be the law to have a front plate but it's not the law to drill holes and mutilate your bumper. There are alternatives to drilled holes. some dealers just do it.

It's law here in Cali too but a few dealers know better and dont drill the holes. it's your responsibilty to have the front plate, not the dealers. No law says they have to Drill your bumper.

I hate when dealers do that, you have no choice and you just paid 30K for a car with 2 holes in the bumper.
not cool.

I've had to deal w/the drilled holes myself....

Unfortunately...after having my car for two weeks, I was coming home from vacation and a rock tagged my hood @ about 80mph. I couldn't see anything, thought maybe it hit underneath.. but when I arrived in the driveway, I got out to unload the car (what little there was)....and there was a golfball size dent w/creases right beside the Nissan hood emblem. That rock nailed the hood....anyway, Insurance is covering it, and the bodyshop is also fixing those ugly holes and touching up the entire car where there are a few chips on the fascia and hood....
