Daytona Blue Availability
I'm looking to get a Z. I am parting and selling my car and saving up a big down payment all winter and want to get a Z in the Spring. The thing is, the ONLY color I like is Daytona Blue. I heard from a guy who is a Z nut. He had a 240, has a 300ZX and is looking into getting the 350, he knows EVERYTHING about these cars. He said that they are getting rid of the le mans sunset for canary yellow, getting rid of a silver color, and the Dayton Blue was a promotional thing for only 2004. Is this true? I went to two dealers and asked and both said that the Daytona Blue was in the '05 color chart but then I went to one of the dealers and spoke with a sales person as far as tradin value and I asked if he heard about them getting rid of the daytona blue. He said that yeah he did hear that. Now I do not know if he was saying that thinking that it will get me to jump on a Z now to get the color or if he was serious about the color being discontinued. Do you guys know anything about this? I really need to know because I only want that color and I might have to work something out with the dealer to get me a daytona blue at the last available second they can and I can buy it in the winter and bring it straight to the garage. Thanks for any help.
DB only in 2004? Wow! I've got a REAL collector's item with my 03 DB! I'll start the bidding at $50,000.
But seriously, take just about anything a self proclaimed expert (and a dealership for that matter) says with a grain of salt. Too many people don't know what they're talking about.

Yeah I agree I didn't believe either of them. All I ever hear about is that people want the Blue. Why would they get rid of such a desired color. And I apolagize I didn't know Daytona Blue was in '03.

I talked to the new car buyer at nissan today and was told. They are getting rid of a silver, adding canary yellow, adding a black(smoke or blackout), adding a midnight blue....and GETTING RID OF DAYTONA!!!.....why? why would they get rid of such a desired color? If the midnight blue doesn't look damn good I am not going to get a Z because of this...this SUCKS.
Anyone else here these color changes?

I REALLY hope you're right. I'm about ready to start stripping my eclipse and getting it ready to part and trade in. And then I heard that the only color I like will go. Is there a way to contact nissan directly?

Seriously though, I agree with you. Too many people on this forum and others are too quick to post B.S. that they heard or thought they heard. People need to check the facts before they start getting everybody excited over nothing.
I posted this thread asking if anyone heard that. I am not saying it is fact. I apolagize if it came off that way. Either way I am not getting the car till spring. It's just stupid to buy it now and be paying high payments for a garaged car when I can get it in the spring (after saving a bigger downpayment over the winter without a car payment) and have low payments and I can use it right away.
