$74,500 for every Z owner...
I just got my latest issue of Autoweek and I found a very intriguing article. It states that Mikal Watts, an attorney in Texas has filed a class-action lawsuit against Nissan. The lawsuit is on behalf of all 2003 and 2004 350Z owners, seeking damages and costs of up to $74,500.
THIS IS FOR REAL!!!
I honestly don't think the suit stands a chance, but it might make it easier for us owners to get more than a pro-rated tire replacement.
I don't know what you guys would do with that kind of money, but I would definetely use it towards replacing my current 350Z with either the new Infiniti M, an FX or a 2005 350Z.
I'm crossing my figures and hoping I will one day recieve a check in the mail from Nissan.

Class action lawsuits usually make the lawyers rich, not the people in the class. The lawyers will skim a large percentage of any award off the top, leaving what's left to be split amongst a bazillion Z owners involved in the suit. I wouldn't be looking for any $75K check in the mail.

I dont know if $74,500 is what he was originally seeking but now he is only seeking a new FIXED 350z for everyone with the problem, no money just new car.I dont think that will happen either, but he is right it is just a band aid fix.The problem is going to be there until Nissan does something about it.

I had my front tires replaced at about 23,000 miles. If anyone if wondering why I waited that long it's because an actual fix for the problem wasn't officially addressed by Nissan until I had that many miles. I had to pay over $200 at the manufacturers pro-rated schedule. Not exactly expensive but not cheap either. Now, at a little over 28,000 miles I am getting the same tire noise as before. Don't get me wrong, I love my Z, but this has to be fixed. I have been quite disappointed with the build quality overall especially with the car manufactured in Japan. Whatever kind of fix they have it better be better than the program they have now.
