Default Audi TT vs 350z

Ok, I am probabally gonna get heat for this post, but I am shopping around for a car, and I have narrowed it down to the Audi TT and the 350z.

My questions to you Z enthusiasts are simple. What makes the Z car better than the TT?

Thanks for the input.

Ok, the outside of both cars is awesome. The inside of the Audi TT is nicer than the Z, but the horsepower/performance of the Z is better in the numbers. I have sat in both cars, and the TT is a bit nicer on the inside. Feels more finished, less plastic. More metal and leather.

The Z and the TT are both awesome looking cars. I haven't driven either though. The Z is in such short supply, you can't test drive one in my area. When one comes available to test drive, I'd like to drive the quatro TT and the Z the same day to see if what one is more fun to toss around.

thanks for the feedback

btw, I am a Z car lover. My car in high school was a '78 280Z 2+2. I loved the fold down seats. Nice car, good power, decent reliability.

I have checked out the tt a couple times...and yes...that interior is awesome. I love the interior more that any interior ever. Its ALMOST worth it... But, the outside looks, added to the price tag, added to the extremely disappointing engine makes the car lose points against the Z fast. THEN, just to top it off, youre running with acura RSX-s' and souped up celicas.

The 350z is running with REAL sports cars:
boxster
m3
s2000
NSX
WRX

HA...I havent had ANY civics try and race me since I got the Z. In my 280z, the damn civics would race me left and right...but now....no one steps. They know...they all know who dominates.

(can you tell I like my z?)

Well with the way things are going we may never see 2006.

Any way there is a real hp war going on in the car world. audi had a 450 hp, MB 495 hp, BMW is going to do a 500 hp M5....

It is getting beyond rediculous. Soon we will be seeing 4-door sedans doing 12.0 sec in the 1/4 mile. WTF?

My neighbor has an Audi TT, and the interior of the car is very nice. However, every time that I look at the outside, I can't help but think that it looks like a squashed Volkswagen Bug. Several others have made the same comment. This alone would sway me to the beautiful, graceful lines of the 350Z - - not to mention its power and performance.

IMO, that picture posted should really answer the question for you. Objectively now, isn't the Z just SO much better looking than the TT?

Whats the difference, oh, just 107 hp. Wait, don't wanna get any flames from the Audi group, yes the turbo has 225.

Dude, go immeadiately to your newsstand and check out the latest copy of CAR magazine, it has a huge article on 350z vs Audi TT! Basically, they said that in terms of performance, the TT dissapoints, and it just isn't in the same league as the Z.

Also, those cars are built in Eastern Europe, and their reliability is accoringly bad. (remeber the Yugo?)

good point Corto.. I will have to get a test drive as soon as possible in both cars.

Limited releases of Z's here means there is no way to take one for a spin as of yet.

There's a huge diff in interior space. The roof of the TT is much lower, and I get helmet hair even sitting in one. The Z has plenty of space inside, is sportier, and costs less.

I have an order in for a Z...

I looked at the TT before ordering the Z.

TT
The 1.8 is downright slow
The car is too heavy
The interior is good, but it makes you feel closterphobic(sp?).
Its too expensive.
My wife and I decided if we purchased an Audi it would definately be an A4. The A4 is a much better car in every area.

Z
Better exterior design
Much Faster
Larger Interior
storied history
etc.
etc..
etc...

My wife was a factor. she downright hated the TT, especially the way it makes you fell closed up when sitting in it. She loves the Z!

Its the similarities in the side-windows/roofline that draw all the comparisons.

With your shot you realize the front roofline isn't curved like it is on the TT.

The fender flares also draw comparisons.. basically in a side profile.. the cars show alot of similarities

Twins they are not... some similar trends.. yes

How easy is it to smoke the tires on the Z? I'm fond of roasting rubber on my Mustang.
