Default TCS Slipping New Wheels?

I just purchased American Racing Fusion Chrome wheels for my Z. They are 17x7.5 all around. I'm using the same tires as before. Suddenly, my dash is reading "slip" whenever I take a turn too agressivly or take a corner too quickly. I'm really confused. I've checked air pressures, all A OK. The OEM wheels were 17x7" on the front and 17x8" on the rear. Would changing to 17x7.5" all around cause this dilemma?

Any help would be appreciated.

I think I may have found the answer already. As I looked at the rims, I noticed that the A**holes put the rear tires on the front and Vice Versa. I'm sure that the TCS computer will notice the difference in wheel height(tires actually) and thus cause the slippage. I'm having them rotated this PM and HOPE this solves my problem. American Racing says that if I'm not happy they will take the wheels back.

Here's a picture of the wheels. They remind me of the old style Torque Thrust on the muscle cars of the past.

If you are following the OEM 17" spec then it should be:

17x7.5 for the fronts, 225/50 R17
17x8 for the rears, 235/50 R17

I have heard that running same size tires all around will cause problems for the TCS/VDC. You should be running a "staggered" setup, otherwise if you want to run same size tires you can turn off TCS. But turning off TCS is a band-aid solution.

After re-reading your post I was confused ... are you running same size tires all around?

Or are you running same size wheels, but different size tires?

What size tires/brands???

Sounds like you're just spinning them easier. No biggie.

I believe you can run the same size tires, if your rims are offset to maintain the stagger. Some autoX guys actually run bigger tires in the front. Would not recommend that for street though.

I'm still using the OEM Bridgestone RE040's

225's in the front and 235's in the rear

I just fount the problem. The A**holes put the 225's on the rear & the 235's on the front. DUH, no wonder. Had them swapped & ALL IS WELL WITH THE BLACK PRINCESS(my wife's name for the Z)
Thanks for all your inputs
