Default Test Drive

As a former owner of a 240Z I am glad to see that Nissan has brought the Z back.
I have one question: Yesterday I test drove a base model with the 6 speed manual shifter. I was surprized at how much vibration could be felt through the shifter. At idle, (not in gear)during accelleration or just cruising. I have read about how smooth the engine and drivetrain are, but this didnt seem so smooth.
Was this a lemon or is this normal? Is the automatic better?
Appreciate any info as I am about to purchase one in a couple of months.

Vibrating shifter is rather normal. And you've heard that the Z had a smooth drivetrain? Read some tranny/drivetrain reviews from numerous members on this board and see how what you've read compares...
