Default Motorized NAV door broken

Well after only 5,000 miles my motorized NAV door is broken. Whenever opening or closing it, the door jams and I have to force it open or close. I kind of expected it given how flimsey it was. I think I'm just going to leave it open all the time rather than bringing it to the dealer and risk them messing up the rest of the interior. Not worth the hassle IMO. Has anyone had similar problems?

I have a 2004 too, but no nav and I can see how the door does seem a little weak. I guess it is only a matter of time with that kind of thing?

Isn't it the Nav door was already improve to the 2004 model? Or maybe roadster and coupe are difference? The Nav door on my 2004 ZR doesn't slide inside the nav pocket storage, so there is no way to cos jam.

I don't think there is much of a different from the roadster or coupe. I did hear there was a different way the door opens up on the 03 & 04. Then again I don't have a nav so maybe the door opens different on nonavs and navs.

I have the exact same problem. Started a couple weeks ago. Brought it in to Hayward Nissan. They said they have to order a part and will call me. That was 12 days ago. Maybe I’ll take it to another dealer in the area.

I want it fixed. I don’t want the Nav showing when it is parked. And the warrantee will pay for it.

I too would be interested in any insights into what is causing it.

LemanZ, looking at your signature- I hope you told that guy with the bra on his coupe to get a CLEAR BRA!

And I gotta say WOW - seems to be two or three of the 6 with NISMO front bumper. Funny how a plastic line across the front can make it look 100x better and sporty.

Looks like a fun Z meet though.

Haha, the Z with the BRA is only on for that day for extra protection, normal his Z is nake all the time. Just wonder, maybe the Z with bra will get uneven sun burn on the paint, like the chick with bra on the beach.......

Apparently only two of us have ever had a problem with the nav door getting stuck. I guess that's a good thing.
