Default Nizl is right...

For the most part, gas is gas. Every retailer adds their own detergent additives. Refineries pump out regular, plus, and high octane, and sell it to whomever wants it.

The only gasoline which uses a unique refining process is Amoco Ultimate. The process used totally eliminates PNAs which gives the gas its clear color. Total elimination of PNAs also helps improve the cleanliness of the burn in your engine.

Having worked in the oil refining industry for many years, I buy Amoco Ultimate whenever possible. In a pinch, I'll buy any of the major retailer's high octane. (Sunoco 94 is nice...)
