Default anyone ORDER a 2005 yet?

I stopped by my Nissan dealer last night and can still special order a new '04 or order an '05 for about $287 more. The manager swears that there are absolutely no changes between '04 and '05 except for a new bright yellow paint color. I have read all of the rumors about '05's here and was hoping for him to confirm the one about new interior quality and the new suspension tuning (wasn't one of the posts referring to a 'European' suspension setting or something for '05?). Anyway if he is right I would be willing to order one of the last '04s to save money the first year of owning it on base price, insurance, plates etc. but would be upset if the '05 had the end it all fix to tire problems (or is this a confirmed fix since the '2004.5' models have been in production?) I'd appreciate someone's $0.02 before I run out and buy something this month without the information I need.

Also they won't budge from MSRP but I have 2 other local dealers to check with this week to try and get them down. Anybody had to pay retail price??

I ordered a touring 2005 on 7/20. First dealer wanted MSRP, I walked. The second dealer was about $700 over INVOICE. Shop around, there's no reason to pay MSRP for the 2005.

Try Carmax, they automatically discount the Z's right now about 1800.00 --I saw a 2003 touring red for 4000.00 off MSRP. I wish I would have not been in my lease, because I would have purchased it then. and then waited 3 yrs to get the ZR

I am buying a Z right now and trying to get it couple of hundreds over invoice but it's really hard to find one.

I just got an email from a dealer in LA, they are asking 1200 off MSRP. Which is not bad but is it hard to get a Z 500 over the invoice from LA area?

btw, my local dealer said Liquid Alumium and Lemans Sunset are gone for the 05 and headlight/taillight will be changed.

also, they are saying the tire feathering is fixed on the car that produced after June 2004.

Is there a 2004 model built after June??

It doesn't make sense to order a 2004 at this late of a season. To save $, find one in the inventory and make an offer. The dealers know the 05 are coming and they would like to clear out the 04's. Remember the sell price is determined by how bad you want vs how bad they want to sell. Some are more hungry than others. Personally, for $287, I would order the 05.

From the 3 to 4 Z sites that I visit regularly, I see rumors of 2004.5 feathering, but did not see a confirmed case. My be nobody has the mileage yet. Does anybody know any different?

My ZR is a 2004.5 made in 2004/03. It has been perfect so far with no problem at all. I think it has the "Euro suspension". It rides different from my friend's 03 Track.

If you haven't seen this yet, check it out:http://nissannews.com/nissan/news/pr...01010023.shtml
as far as '04s go, they are done. No more orders, the dealer can find one that is still waiting to be shipped and tag it for you if it has the features you want. For me there are only 4 base coupes left in USA and I'm not interested in any of them. My dealer placed his last '04 orders last night. With the new '05 features I'll gladly forget about '04 though. Thanks for the info about pricing. I've talked to 2 dealers and they were within $20 of each other without me sharing the others' price. But both wanted about $800 less than RETAIL here in Northern IN and I don't remember what MSNAutos said invoice was right now but I will shop around more. Anybody had actual experience shopping/buying out of state or through the internet? I'd prefer dealing with someone in person and avoid all of the out of state costs but going the other ways but a deal is a deal. The above post has the color change information too - yellow added, one previous color is gone

Yes, please help us people~! I am also trying to get one from other state.

bjr48, check this zip(90068) on nissan website to find what you want. I am sure there are many more base coupes still out there.
90068 is LA zip but you could try New York or any big city close to you to find one easier and cheaper.
