Default top speed

Has any one else taken their Z up to around 140mph? (on a closed racing circuit of course, lol) I did and at about 135-145mph I heard a audible warning buzzer I think of some sort. It could have been just some weird wind noise on some external piece of the car, not sure. Any feed back? BEN

My Top speed is around 88 MPH. I usually try to stay under that though, cause if I do go that fast I keep winding up in 1955.

I've heard that sound, check your rear view mirror for a distant cop car. Thats what mine always ends up being.

155, only sound was the voice in my head saying "Thats good, slow down before we get caught"

On a side note, the car was very stable at those speeds with no floating or anything. Planted to the ground with total control.

[Thanks for your feed back guys. Yeah it felt real stable at that speed but the noise distracted me to much. I cant exactly go into the dealer and try to get that looked at either. Could you imagine trying to tell the service dept that to recreate the sound they need to take a drive around 145 mph!! Not a chance. Thanks guys. BEN

If the guy in the service dept is afraid to drive it that fast - just tell him you'll drive and he can just ride and enjoy!

Mine would'nt go past 156. But there was probably a lot of noise coming from the rx-8 that was a 1/4 mile behind.

I had my 1990 300ZX up to 125 a couple times - it hugged the road and I felt very secure - so strange movements at all (the people ahead of me moved over into the right lane real quick - lol )

I have taken my buddies Kawasaki zx9 2001 up to 174 mph. A real rush, but once is enough, never again.

I've driven a Z roadster (not mine) at 140 with the top down. It was extremely stable at that speed, and the wind buffeting was less than I would have thought. I've driven my coupe at 125, and it was stable as well with no buzzing noise.
