Insurance Thread
Got my insurance policy in today.
350Z is rated a 17 from a 10-27 isnt that bad considering a vette is a 27.
My 2002 Maxima SE 6Spd is rated a 15.
BTW I pay $1450 a year for full coverage for both vehicles with a $500 deductible.
I checked on a Z Roadster= 20
05 Mustang Gt= 22 (insurance agent says Mustangs fail in the safety area)
Acura TL= 19
BTW my 1994 Mazda Protege was more a year than my 350Z,

When I was first looking at buying the Z, I checked on insurance. I was surprised to find out it was not much more than any of my older cars. Talked with the agent some and found out that most of the "cost" is tied to the driver not the car like it used to be. The comp for a new car is slightly higher because of the value, but the real hit comes in the liability. That explains why my two kids (21 & 17) pay more per month driving two old POSs that I do for a new Z.

I'm pretty sure insurance companies mainly base their coverages on the value of the car. you're luck you're not in jersey though... for the Z almost minimal full coverage its $2k/year and I have a perfect record
