Does your dealer cover seat for oil changes?
It's been two years with a Z now, and every time I came in for oil change, mechanic is trying to jump into my burnt orange seat without warrying too much about his oiled closes. And they won't let me drive the car to the ramp. So every time I have to stand by the door and when mechanic approaches I don't let him in untill he finds some plastic cover to put on seat.
Last time they have real difficulty to find plastic, so some really smart technician was trying to cover seat with oiled rugs he used for God knows what before... So I directly asked them am I the only customer of the whole Nissan/Dodge dealership who warries about fine leather seat and they say kind of yes...
I can't believe it's not a standard to cover the seat if mechanic needs to drive it. Is it the same everywhere?

If I were in your situation, I'd go in with garbage bags already on the seats (as coverings)... it would not only serve its purpose, but it MIGHT also send the mechs a message...

My dealer uses seat covers and paper floor mats. They have staging lanes as you pull in where they have two guys that "prep" the car (i.e. seat covers, floor mats, key labels and things hanging from the mirrors) before they drive them back to the service area. It is kinda slick, they have a big roll of them they just pull them off of. My car still smells like oil when I get it back though...

My dealer only covers the floor mat, and I have to remind them everytime I go in. When they are done, they Never remove the paper floormats either. Morons!
I bet if the model was Infinity, it would be different story.

Re: Does your dealer cover seat for oil changes?
this makes my dealer sound great. even though on the grand scheme of things its a small thing to do, it goes far in the customer satisfaction area. i have always been impressed how my dealer treats every car be it a 2003/4 350Z or a 1994 Maxima as if it were the owners prize possesion.
they put paper floor mats, seat coverings and even a plastic wrap over the steering wheel and gearshift. kinnd of funny looking the steering wheel cover looks like the hair net thing the cafeteria worker wears back in grade school. good stuff though.
