How did you remove the oil filter?

used a filter wrench with a angled arm no room for the socket type
ps watch out for the tranny/oil plug

Big pair of channel locks. The slip wrench I have was too large for that tiny filter.

The service manual "recommends" you remove plastic engine cover.
