Default Shift **** removal

Does anyone know if the manual shift **** is removable, so a Momo or other specialty **** can be substituted?

Does anyone plan to put a specialty **** on? The new Momos are sweet and have colors that would look good on the new Z.

I think some of the NISMO ones are really cool. Check out www.nismo.com.

Why remove it? It's already tricked out and blends in with all the chrome/brushed aluminum accents? I could see removing it if was a bland black leather. Or is that you just have to change something to be different than the others?

I read somewhere that Nissan went to great lengths to make the standard **** very ergonomic. Maybe someone who's been in the car can comment on it.

i know that if you want anything from MOMO, its gonna cost some money, MOMO brand is pretty expensive, besides, i like the one it already comes with, but if i had the money to replace the ****, why not

Quoting from the brochure:

"And fine-tuned the feel of the shifter, so it's softer on your hand when you push it fore and aft, and more precise as you snick it sideways."

Which, looking at the pic, seems to mean they put a thin strip of foam under the middle strip of leather. Probably not that big a deal. I wouldn't change it myself though, because it matches the other interior bits.
