Unfortunately not... but I'm meeting the Nissan Dealer who had to find the guy a replacement car at the weekend, so I may get a bit more info.

All we know so far other than it being a big off, was that the driver lost control on a roundabout, hit the kerb, takeoff, landed on hedge with one snapped telegraph pole... no casualties thankfully

It's the fact that you weren't familiar with the car, you came into the turn too hot, and didn't know how to handle the situation. Does everybody make mistakes? Yes. But don't blame it on the tires, you should be blaming yourself.
I'm pretty sure he blames himself....

Uh.....how could you have been doing only 5 to 10 mph and lose control? Tires slip? Not if you have VDC, that kicks in immediately and your car basically dies. If you did lose control only doing 5 to 10 mph, then please, do us all a favor and stay off the roads.

for those of you that have VDC, and have seen it flash SLIP, SLIP, SLIP, here's a story... when my tires started slipping and sliding when i got into the accident it became a solid SLIP indication, no flashing, just solid SLIP. (worst feeling ever) basically it meant i was assed out and was gonna crash anyway.
