I appreciate the advice, but '05 is going to be way expensive isn't it? i'm going from 23k for an '03 to well over 27 or 28k for an 05. That's a good 4, maybe 5 thousand. But, it'll be a new car. Mmmmm, I'll have to think about this. Stressfull times. I can't wait to have this car.

If you can afford the extra 4 or 5 Gs, definately get the 05. Also, get at least the Enthusiast model. It is only a couple grand more than base & you get a lot for the extra $$$$. If you can't afford new, then go 04. Many 03s did have lots of problems.

Go here to see comparison among models:

ok ok, you've convinced me. New cars are always nice. Can anyone recommend a dealer? I'm in nor-cal but I'm open to contacting a dealer anywhere. I'm assuming i'll probably get the best price not in CA but that's a total guess. So ya, any recs on dealers?

O also brickyard, I've been looking around that site and it seems like euth has cruise control and auto dimming on the lights. is that the only difference? o duh, and aluminum pedals. Anyway, all those things i don't care too much about EXCEPT cruise control. Is it possible to put in cruise control in a car (rather, i'm sure it's possible, but anybody have any clue as to how much it is?)

brick and others, Thanks for the posts. i can't believe i even thought about buying a z without coming to this site first...

With the Enthusiast you also get LSD, TCS, & HID headlights that are not on Base.

After market cruise control alone would chew up a chunk of the initial $2G delta in price.

As for best price, you might want to start a new post asking for recommendations for best price in norCali. I paid MSRP for mine but I'm sure you can do better now. Lots of folks have bought for 1 to 2 Gs below MSRP.

You should also see if any friends or family that work for big companies can get a good price through their company (used to be something like invoice +$500 for IBM, when I last looked into it)

also, FYI, the only 03 model that came with leather was the touring, not the track.

Ok, so here's my update after a crazy day. I found a base '04 model at Steven's Creek Nissan. Anybody know anything about this place? Also, i was planning on putting a new chip in anyway so i could put cruise control in. The base lights kinda suck, but o well...and this shifters i don't care too much about. What would be a good price for a '04 at this point in the year with the '05's coming out now (and enthus). I think it was listed at the lot for 27,600. I'm thinking talking him down to around 25,500 or so? Lower? In the mean time before i def choose this one I still have the option to buy a used 03 base model with 15k for 23k in LA. Thanks again guys, your info is unmatched anywhere.
