Question good buy?

Hey All,

This is my first time here and first post. I've been online all day reading posts, so much info! So I've been eyeing the Z since it came out and have droolled on the street countless times, but its now time to buy one for myself. I've found this listing on autotrader:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...UE&cardist=277

The only thing wrong with it is a little scrap on the back right from her gardening ho. How much would that be to paint (no dent, just paint)? Is this a good buy? I've talked her down to 23000 has she wants to get rid of it to remodel her kitchen (Priorities?!)

Thanks in advance! Much appreciated,

Purdy

I would try to find out what model it is (i.e. base, perfomance or touring). Also what factory options are installed. If is a base model then that is not really a very good deal. Good luck and keep us posted.

PS. Welcome!

Default model?

Not sure exactly what model...i know it's not track as its all cloth seating. Where do you think i could find a better deal? I've been looking on craigs list, autotrader, ebay, etc...This is the lowest i've seen. Plus it only has 15k miles.

Depending on what trim level that's not that great of a deal. IIRC those are the wheels that come on the Base or Enthus. models. I assume it's local. If your willing to travel you can find a better deal than that.

Enthu is right i think. I've been looing online and Cali seems to be the most expensive, but the cheapest is still 22,999 from a private seller. Is this 23000 such a bad deal? It might not be an amazing deal but its ok right? I just don't want to buy this car on saturday and find out on sunday that i could have paid 20k...Also, this paint chip, any estimate on price to fix? Thanks guys!!! I can't believe i already got replies

A new Enthusiast is about $29000...MSRP.... so not a raving deal.

More important have a mechanic you trust thoroughly check out the car.

Default rephrase

Let me re-phrase: I have two questions regarding buying a base or euth model. 1) Is 23k a BAD price? Is it acceptable? 2) How much would the paint chip above be the fix approx? I asked a guy at Scott's Z specialists in the bay area and he said like 500. Seems like alot.

Thanks guys!

Because the description does not mention cruise control, and because the terms "2003 350z Coupe" refer precisely to a Base model, I don't think it's an Enthusiast. Ask seller if it has cruise and aluminum pedals. If it does, it's more likely an Enthusiast, if not, it's a Base.

I don't think it's such a great deal-- I paid about the same just over a year ago for the same type of car [03 DB Base] with much less mileage [under 2,000 miles]. But I don't think it's terribly bad, either, depending on wear issues.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

I'd offer 21500k MAX for it. Just mention the cost for chip and depreciation from 2005 models being out already.
I guy on this board can't unload his for 21500.

A bad deal if its a Base; don't do it.

I don't think the chip is a deal killer.

stay away from 2003s..too many issues, probabbly that one has already faced all the TBS..but who knows..the feathering issue might be there. Search on the issues section about the 2003 models. I recommend getting a later 04. That price would be too high for a Base..but for an enth..is OK..not a GREAT deal..but is OK. $500 for the chip might as well be correct.
