Default Thinking of selling my Z... what's it worth?

It's a 2003 SS Enth, with Al kickplates & all 3 floor mats. I've kept it clean, waxed and garaged for as long as I've had it, and changed the oil every 3-5k. The only blemish is where something hit the front bumper and broke through the paint. It has 14,500 miles or so. KBB says $25,505 for good condition and 26,940 for excellent. Does somewhere in between there sound realistic?

Got any other advice for me? Thanks.

First off, why?! Baby maybe...anyway i was/am thinking of buying a used '03 off this girl in LA and we agreed around 23k which many people in my thread said was way to high: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....46#post1065146

This is under KBB (around 25k) for the car so i don't know what's a good price. I'm curious as to what people think...

I'm not totally sure I'm selling it. I'm just thinking about it. I've had it almost 2 years now. (Ordered it over 2 years ago.)

I mainly want money to make a downpayment on a house or something. Also, I'm just getting tired of washing it, waxing it, worrying about parking in the sun, parking far away in parking lots, and finding corner spots to prevent door dings, etc. I need a vacation from all that!

uh no....you're not getting $25-27K for sure....i'd expect ~$21K, esp since the MY05's are coming out your car is effectively 2 years old.....

It's *actually* 2 years old. But I bet it's in better condition than most that are 1 year old. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'd pay more for a well kept 2 year old car with 14,000 miles than a 1 year old car that's gone 20,000 miles and has sat in the sun for year.

Don't get me wrong though, I still appreciate your advice and want to know what people think.

An enthusiast MSRP is approx $28K, invoice around $26K. There are people picking up new 350Z's for at or near invoice price these days. This is why I believe that it'd be very hard to sell a 2 year old 350Z for $25-27K. Subtract 2 years of depreciation, and I believe $21K is reasonable.

uhh..from the looks of his post, he has already looked up the Blue Book value.

Hope you get what you want out of it nbdy... seems like all you OGs are gettin out of the Z this year. I just traded mine in after a year and a half. I've gotta get my house where I want it before I can play with the toy. I got $20K on my trade, so you should be able to get at least $23K from a private buyer. Good luck.

Sad when Z owners move on .. so is life.

Houses, kids, finances, upgrades, changes .. so be it !

I will keep my Z ... love it ... but soul wants a GT-R. We will see.

peace

KBB is an old skool relic these days. Only the wholesale price is good, and that's for auctions. Even that isn't too realistic.
I mean check their 03' Enth price, it's basically the invoice cost of a new 05'!!!!!!!

http://www.edmunds.com is better but, it's still behind in terms of adjustment when vehicle of the next year appear in the calendar year of now. How exactly do you depreciate an 04' when it's not 05' yet?

So best guess is lower trade-in range up to private sale.
Enth: $20500-23000.

Yea , for me its either this or early next year... getting a house real soon.. gotta get those priorities straight..

I believe around $22K should be reasonable for your Z...

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it.

jj>> I just traded mine in after a year and a half.

Wow, I didn't know that.

fairladyZ>> Sad when Z owners move on .. so is life.

I'm not dyin'! (I'd still have my little Maisto toy Z for life support.)

LBSOHK>> any plans for a new ride yet ?

Nope, I wouldn't get anything fancy for awhile. Just my old eclipse. But in a couple years I'll get whatever the best affordable-ish sports car is on the market, and maybe I'll start a message board for it
