Default [VIDEO] Tranny problem...

My brother has a completely stock 350z that has developed a transmission problem. Nissan, in their infinite wisdom, claim it's "normal" for a performance transmission and all sports cars make similar noises.
Well, I know that's a load of crap because my car (C5) doesn't make it and his car only started making it recently. I believe he has less than 20k miles on it.
Here's the video he sent me. I know you guys have had a LOT of tranny problems (I searched. ), so I'm not completely suprised. I don't think he actually filmed this, rather he foud this video and it's representative of his noise as well.

2nd: can anyone recommend a legit dealer in Los Angeles that will FIX this stupid thing and not give him the run-around? He lives in Hermosa Beach if that helps.

It it just excessive chatter when the car is in neutral, which then goes away when the clutch is pressed?

If that is the case, then its normal for this car.

I watched the video. What is the transmission problem he has? A little clutch chatter is not a transmission problem, it is an oversensitive owner. Now if he can't shift into gears, then that is a transmission problem.

Just from watching that video, it does seem like normal tranny noise for the Z. If you do a search you will come up with threads with other people complaining of loud or "unusual" noises coming from the tranny. Pretty sure it is just some clutch chatter. The Z's tranny/clutch is louder then any car I have ever drivin and I have drivin many, many cars. Als oa few Z's which all made the same sounds in my experiance.

For the person who asked what that shadow is, its just his knee coming up when releasing the clutch.

Thanks Guys... He said it's a new sound, but maybe not if you all seem to indicate it's normal.

Mine had that at the VERY beginning... Kinda wierd, and threw me as well.

As time went on, 30k+ miles... that sound is gone.

Don't let it worry you.
