Default Daily drivers

How many of you daily drive your 350z? I really like the 350z and G35c but do not like the price tag of the G35c. The G35c has 4 seats which I kind of like cause that might come back to bite me in the *** but ya never know. I've driven both and like the power of the 350z better as it seems to have a bit more pep to it. Overall, do you guys think the 350z is a good daily driver? My only concerns are RWD and lack of rear seats. I do live in MD and we have snow but that doesn't really concern me as I can use my Dad's truck. How does the Z perform in slippery conditions such as rain or even snow?

I've only had my Z for a couple months now but I'm currently a daily driver. I plan on getting a second car but don't have one yet. I don't have any experience in snow but I can tell you I've had no problems whatsoever in rain. Compared to my '95 Cutlass Conv't that I had before, this car blows it away with handling regardless of the conditions that I've had it in so far....

But like I said, I can't speak for the snow traction.

RWD + High Torque = Tough time in snow. Im awaiting the snow here in Boston, with the Z, even tho i dont plan on driving it with any kind of snow on the ground. Its deff. a well balanced car which sets it apart from a mustang, which slides all over the place in the snow..

Wit the 6MT hill will be hell in the snow..

Well I'm only really concerned with rain. I know the S2000 blows in the rain. I just don't want to have to worry about the tail end coming out on me just driving down the road. I am not really that worried about snow as I can take my Dad's truck or if its really not bad at all, drive the Z. Or perhaps use it as an excuse not to go to work....haha.

I drive my Z roadster daily but I do have a beater for hauling stuff ('69 Int'l Travelall). I don't know if I would own a Z in a climate that gets lots of snow and ice. It would drive me crazy to know I had such a great performance car and not be ale to drive it for months at a time.

You need to come to the Hooters in Rockville on the 16th of October at 12:00. When you leave, your mind will be made up, I promise. Check out the mid-Atlantic regional forum for details (thread is stickied at the top).

The Z is an awesome car that does just fine in the rain. You just need to remember that it has lots of torque and a big contact patch, so you need to keep your head on straight when you're driving in such conditions.

If you get to come out to the Rockville meet, track me down so we can talk. Hope you can make it out!!!

Just look for the tag (and maybe the wing! )

You really don't need to be concerned about how the Z handles in the rain ... as long as 1) you aren't stupid and won't floor it in the rain, and 2) you are getting at least the enthusiast model, which comes with traction control. The Z is perfectly stable in the wet stuff, and i've never hydroplaned. Best car i've ever been in in the rain. As far as the snow, i don't want to get into that ...

i have a base Z. no problem in the rain. at all. just don't redline it and you will be fine. its oct. now and i'm waiting to take on the snow, heheheh. its all about the tires. and alittle common sense. if you put our potenza tires on an suv, it would also become a death trap in the snow. get all seasons or winters and you will be good.

snow and rain = i drive z like an accord
dry = i drive z like a z

I drive my 350 year round in Canada. The car does fine in the rain (on worn Kumho MX) and snow (with 215/60/16 Blizzacks).

Turn the VDC off in the winter and it's still manageable but it demands much more concentration - even with Blizzacks on the car.

I have driven my Z every day since i got it over a year ago. I got lucky that we had a very light winter here in ohio. Only one day of snowfall where i had to have my brother take me to work. Other than that i drove it with the original potenzas.

I am not going to lie to you. With the stock potenzas on, even the lightest of snow/dusting (seriously even as little as a 1/4inch) is too much. The car is crap, and i was not even trying to do anything stupid. even with the lightest touch on the gas peddle, the crown in the road is enough to send the rear end out to the right. Felt stupid cause here i was with an awesome car rendered useless in the simplest of snow while others had to pass going the speed limit.

I still plan on driving her this winter but will be putting on blizzaks the first sign of snow.

wont be long now. just had my first morning with the ICY warning on the speedo, SWEET!!!!

I live in Miami, and lately i've seen rain at LEAST two days out of the week. It drives fine as long as you take it easy on the throttle. I had a lil lil scare once on an on-ramp because i was in a bit of a hurry...never again though. Hey, i even drove to Dunkin Donuts while hurricane Frances was around.

I daily drive my Z. Averaging about 2000 miles a month. It's a dream. The Z is very safe... I'll tell you one thing though, I enjoy driving it solo, I don't enjoy driving it as much when I have a passenger. I like to drive rough and they always get carsick.

If you are driving solo, forget about the g35c. The 350z envelopes you, it's a driver's car.

I drive my DB Z every day, it is great! Rain really isn't too bad of a problem, don't redline it and let the clutch out slowly and you should be fine! Just pay attention in huge downpours and slow it down a little.

I have done a complete 360 in the snow once, just a little dusting and I was only going 30mph over the top of a hill and I let off the gas coming down and around I went. Now that I look back at it, it was pretty fun but not an experience I would like to go through again!

I have an old Blazer I will be driving in the winter now and if it wears out, I will be putting on some Blizzacks.

(I live in Wisconsin now, so no chance of avoiding the snow

My Z is my daily driver and we got a decent amount of snow last year in PA. I didn't have any problems, but thats because I only drove in the snow when I absolutely had to and I stayed on major roads. You can't go out to dinner on a night when it snows because if the plows haven't had time to clear off the major streets, you will be stuck. Getting to work in the morning and getting home in the afternoon I had no problems. If there is snow on the ground, don't even consider going anywhere but work or home.

I just got a DB 0 BASE and drive it everyday. Been treating me SO nice and I haven't thought about the G35 since. Just me, its worth the lack of two other seats. Think of it this way, when there are four or five people to take that's 3 or 4 people that probably have a cary with 4 seats. ZpikeZ makes a good point, get enthus. my only mistake. No traction control and no cruise control
