Default i like the z without the spoiler better!!!

it is late at night and i was just searching the internet for pictures of Zs. while looking at tons of pictures i realized something. i like the Z without a spoiler better than with it. don't get me wrong, it looks great with a spoiler too, but without one looks classier and more modern to me. what do you guys think.

I personally think Zs without spoilers are like Angelina Jolie without her Lips. Because they were obviously designed with the Lip in mind.

i installed nismo wing on the day i bought it..(well,, actually a week after) so i didn't have any chance to enjoy(?) stock wing..

but recently, i see many Zs with stock wings and i really like the look..(dont know about NO WING....it looks something is missing..IMO)

but i still love my nismo wing..^^

I totally agree with you!!!

A long time ago I started a thread about which angle we liked best to look at our Z's ie the front, side, rear etc. may seem silly but think about it, you have a favorite view of her.

anywho, point is i figured that much like with the ladies, i am an a$$ man and i love to look at the car from the rear and to me without the spoiler, the car looks sleeker, smoother lines.

now the G35 sport without the spoiler is another story, the trunk area looks too boxy to me.

Wrong.......the Z was designed WITHOUT a spoiler in mind. In fact, when the car's final form was first revealed, designers were proud to point out that the car's shape was specifically created to NOT need a spoiler. The ugly spoiler and mud guards were late afterthoughts by Nissan as a way to make some extra money on some cheap add-on parts that cost them peanuts to manufacture.

The car looks so much cleaner without that crap. You don't see that $hit on a Porsche or Ferrari.

I totally agree, a spoiler makes the car look cheap and definately takes away from the beautiful lines that it was designed with. The car just looks too great to ***** it up with silly add ons!

I have the aero package, and I think it makes a nice subtle, under-stated look. I also like the regular lines of the car. The larger spoilers, well I think those look good too - it makes the car look like a genuine racecar. Heck, it's hard to make the Z look bad!

I upgraded the model I bought & went to a dealer 300 miles away to get the color I wanted without the spoiler.

Personal choice, though.

Everyone has their own taste, some look good and some look bad. I like to keep the Z orginial, everyone has their own mod characteristic.

While I don't disagree that the spoilers and mud guards are overpriced, I do disagree with about everything else you have said.

The spoiler in question (lip spoiler I'm assuming) does help airflow - though not much. The Aero package reduces the CD from .29 to .28. So yeah, you wont feel it, but it has it's purpose.

Secondly, if you think Nissan is bad for their so called gimmics, enter a little company called PORSCHE.

Their nifty little spoilers EXTEND and RETRACT. Cheap to replace? You gotta be kidding. Necessary? Probably. But then again, the lines on the Z and the lines on the Carrera are pretty similar from an aerodynamics standpoint.

Apparently you DO see that crap on Porsches. And as far as asthetics go, I'm pretty sure that 11/10 people like the aero kit on the Z...

Read what you wrote......"EXTEND and RETRACT." That means the car can look clean when you want it to, and you can use the actually effective spoiler when you want to. Porsche spoilers ARE expensive, and they work......they're not little ineffective taped on pieces of crap.

If the Z had a truly effective spoiler (even though the designers said it does not need one) that operated like the Porsche unit (so that it would disappear when I wanted it to), I'd welcome it. Instead, Nissan sticks on a $400 piece of plastic that probably cost them five bucks to manufacture.

The Z has a level of design, IMHO, that is far above the need to ***** it up with add-ons and doo-dads. I hate to see the clean, superb lines ruined...... but then again, I love seeing how much better mine looks than those with the cheapo ornaments.

I got stuck with my stock spoiler when I bought my car. I like the look without the spoiler much better, but now that I'm looking at kits for the car to do shows, I am definitely looking into the nismo spoiler. The nismo spoiler is the only spoiler IMO that looks good on the car. It's not too gaudy or obtrusive, and it doesn't weigh 200 lbs. I'm not trying to **** anyone off, just my opinion.
