You really think those small changes are worth the pile of cash you are going to lose in this transaction?

You should sat down and figured out how much this transaction is going to cost you?

Then compare that to upgrading the wheels and brakes on your current car.

A quick estimate of loss just on the first car is close to $6K. Add to that the additional cash you need to come up with just to get into the new car, and you have some serious mod money.

<actually it's $7,190 before calculating for depreciation factors>

Thanks, but I Am fully aware of cost involved before I posted.
Will own (and always keep) the Grand Touring ZR regardless.
BTW: Noting changes was for general info only, not calc factor.

etc, etc (as I have said above).
___________________________________________

Apparently some fellow Z friends simply do not understand that the Grand Touring is to be the Roadster version of the 35th Anniversary Z, and that 05 production ZR is the Z I intend to keep in my stable forever...

Yes, I am quite aware I could simply modify my current ZR...

The end result of doing that (although much less costly I know) is not the same as far as I am concerned. My intention is to order an 05 SB GT ZR with All the available stock options and with Net seats (just like mine has) and NOT make any modifications to it OTHER then installing a JWT Popcharger in my future car (Grand Touring ZR) like my car has (which can easily be reversed if desired later on). I then hope to keep that Anniversary ZR Model in it's 'stock' pristine condition for many many years to come... Perhaps 20 years from now it will be apparent why I was willing to absorb the costs in 2005 to switch ZR's.

Not sure if the 350z is actually gonna be worthy as a collectors car. However, i do admire the fact that u are treating it like one.

netman_one,

I understand you man.

I bought my base on 3/22/04 and also have 8100 miles. I am thinking of trading it in to get a Roaster.

Thats what I should have gotten in the first place ( i was thinking about the S2000 too- i almost wrote the dealer a check for the S). Reason was that I didn't have the garage at that time, but now I have a garage.

Hard decision man.

The 2003 350Z is a collectors item. I got it and I am not planning on selling it! It all comes down to what you think is worth preseving....

Valid Point, you note the same reasoning in which I bought the 2004 Z Roadster in it's 04 production release year. However, I would have waited for the Grand Touring 05 ZR release if I had a working crystal ball at the time.... (it was in the repair shop back on March 20th). But I would have missed a ton of fun, so no regrets here!

Should learn of GT ZR pricing on Nov 2, 04 (or soon after).
Not too long to wait now to place my 05 GT SB ZR order...

I had an 03 redline base model and got sick of not having an LSD or HIDS, and the fact that the paint on the red Z was starting to look horrible with chips in it, i decided to get the color and model i was originally going to get and ended up getting an 04 Daytona Blue Enthusiest model. I am glad i got rid of the base and made the swap. A few days after the swap my friend with a track model ended up swapping his Z for an STI and gave me his 19 inch VOlk te37's, to say the least good things happened after i did the trade so enjoy the new 05' 35th and let us know how you like it,(I also heard they are increasing the horsepower to 300 but the the torque curve will change a bit lower, good friend works at Nissan)

Nope, The 05 GT ZR also will have 287 HP.
Already stated my reasoning in link, HP is the same (not why!).
