I have an AM Vantage V8 on order, but that's more than year away. I have owned 7 Corvettes, and all rattled like a skeleton on Halloween.....my 2002 Z06 was one of the worst, with horrid fit and finish. However, I always end up going back.....something about the eternal promise that the new one is finally "right," and of course that awesome Corvette power for the money.

I doubt I'll go back again, but I know I'll check out the new one in person. Maybe even test drive it. Judging from my past record, that could be a big mistake.

Great choice! I finally saw a C6 in person. It was the Magnetic red. Looks great, but I don't think your average Joe would be able to tell the difference between the C5 and C6 from the rear. C6 looks light years better in the front though than the C5.

No, you're thinking of the Z06 model 'Vette with the power upgrades. Like the OP has mentioned, the Z51 package is an upgraded suspension and other goodies that makes the car a little more nimble and track-capable.

There is truth to the addage that you get what you pay for.

I simply couldn't stomach the $20K premium the vette had over the Z. Yes it performs better, but for 95% of the driving I do, its not THAT much better.

Enjoy your new ride and the fact that you can afford it.

I need interior photos. Saw my first one on the road the other day.. and was very impressed. Chevy really nailed it with the C6.

congrats for the new ride
No doubt the C6 is much nice than the C5, esp. the interior and certer console. you don't expect to see those cheap plastic interior on your 40K car like the C5s right?

The Texas State Fair has 2 of them in the autoshow and you can sit in them.

It's definitely a tempting upgrade.

Michael.
